A new kids-focused science YouTube series is hiring a creative scriptwriter for an exciting long-term opportunity in Tomball, Texas. This project aims to make biology, physics, and chemistry fun and easy to understand for young audiences ages 4–12. The ideal candidate will craft engaging, story-driven scripts that turn complex ideas into entertaining, curiosity-driven content.

Job Responsibilities

  • Write short-form scripts (3–5 minutes) for educational science videos
  • Simplify complex science topics into fun, easy-to-follow content
  • Create engaging hooks and story-style narratives for young viewers
  • Collaborate with production to include ideas for visuals, props, and simple experiments
  • Ensure scripts are energetic, age-appropriate, and engaging

Requirements

  • Experience in scriptwriting, content writing, or educational media preferred
  • Strong storytelling and creative writing skills
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in simple, engaging language
  • Familiarity with children’s content or educational programming is a plus

  • Refine dialogue and scenes across assigned episodes.
  • Help protect identities and make appropriate story changes for legal and storytelling considerations.
  • Complete assigned episodes within approximately five weeks.

Requirements

  • Must be available for four required all-day, in-person Writers’ Room sessions in Duarte, California.
  • Strong writing ability in crime, mystery, or true-crime-inspired storytelling.
  • Ability to write faith-based material with authenticity and sincerity.
  • Strong comedic and dialogue-writing skills.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced writers’ room.

Compensation

  • $300 per selected episode.
  • $150 paid upfront and $150 upon delivery.
  • Selected writers are expected to write 1–3 episodes.
