The Atlanta filmed Captain America Civil War movie is the biggest movie of 2016.
Atlanta‘s film industry is on fire. Despite several TV shows getting canceled, Atlanta still has some of the biggest movies and TV shows in the country filming across the city. One of the biggest movies to film in Atlanta last year was the Box Office hit movie Captain America: Civil War.Â
According to Variety, Captain America: Civil War is the biggest movie of 2016. In fact, in 2016 the movie earned $981.9 million beating Disney’s Zootopia which earned $971 million. In addition, the Atlanta filmed Captain America: Civil War is expected to earn $1 billion worldwide.
This news comes after the movie’s director revealed how much he loved filming in Atlanta. According to 11Alive, “The climate for filmmaking is excellent,” co-director Anthony Russo told 11Alive’s Jennifer Leslie. “Marvel‘s having a great run here.” Russo added, “I think it’s like the best place my brother and I have ever shot, to be honest with you,” Russo said. “It’s a top-shelf production facility. We’re lucky to be here.”
