Job Description
The Argyle Children’s Theatre is casting for the lead role of Princess Melisande, the title character of Sleeping Beauty. This female-identifying role requires a performer who can bring youthful warmth, elegance, and emotional depth to the daughter of the King and Queen. A graceful presence and strong character portrayal are key for this professional non-union production.

Job Responsibilities

• Portray Princess Melisande, a loving and regal young woman with charm and innocence

• Lead the story arc as the sleeping princess with courtly poise

• Rehearse and perform consistently with professionalism

• Collaborate with cast, choreographers, and creative team to deliver a standout lead performance

Requirements

• Female-identifying, age 18+

• Non-union

• Strong stage presence, expressive acting, and graceful movement

• Must be a local hire or have local housing in the Babylon, NY area

Rehearsals & Performances

• Rehearsals: June 23 – July 18, 2025

• Performances: July 19 – August 31, 2025

• Rehearsals run weekdays 10 AM – 3 PM in West Islip, NY

• Shows scheduled on Saturday and Sunday mornings, with some weekday mornings

Compensation

• Stipend provided per rehearsal and performance day

• Transportation and housing not included
