Phoenix Dance Theatre is seeking an exceptional male-identifying contemporary dancer with a solid classical background to join our company for the Spring mid-scale tour, taking place from January to June 2024. This is a unique opportunity to work under the guidance of our new Artistic Director, Marcus Jarrell Willis (@mjwillis_project_inc), and be part of an innovative and evolving dance company.
Responsibilities:
- Participate actively in all rehearsals and performances for the Spring mid-scale tour.
- Collaborate closely with the artistic director and company artists in research and development workshops.
- Uphold the high standards of performance and professionalism associated with Phoenix Dance Theatre.
- Engage in community and outreach programs as part of the company’s initiatives.
- Contribute creatively to the choreographic and artistic process.
Requirements:
- Male-identifying contemporary dancer with a strong classical foundation.
- Proven performance experience in contemporary dance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic group setting.
- Commitment to the full duration of the contract (Jan – Jun 2024).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Work collaboratively with the cast, crew, and creative team during rehearsals and performances.
- Be prepared for a structured rehearsal schedule and maintain a professional attitude in line with child performance regulations.
Requirements:
- Scottish boys aged 9-12 with a Glasgow accent.
- Must be 9 years or older by January 2025 due to licensing and working restrictions.
- Based in Glasgow, Edinburgh, or surrounding areas with the ability to commute for rehearsals and performances.
- Comfortable with acting, singing, and some dance or movement.
- Parent or guardian consent is required for applicants under 16.
- Availability for scheduled rehearsals and performance run.
