The 3-time WNBA Champions Los Angeles Sparks are excited to find their next Brand Marketing Manager to join their transformative marketing, brand and creative services team. As the Sparks embark on their 27th season, this role will be a key piece in honoring and growing the legacy of this franchise’s history and future.
In this role, you will have the incredible opportunity to amplify and nurture the overarching brand and marketing strategies for one of the most iconic women’s professional basketball teams in the world alongside the Head of Marketing. As we work together in establishing this role, you will be responsible in supporting the execution, adherence and sustaining efforts of our major marketing channels to promote growth for the franchise. This position will work in conjunction with production, public relations, partnerships, and sales to effectively execute a variety of marketing tactics to support fan development and revenue goals.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of the major marketing campaigns that serve as the backbone for the 2023 season in the traditional, digital, and experiential realms to promote growing brand equity and propel sales opportunities
- Partner with co-creatives in ensuring the content, design and social outputs are consistently mirroring the marketing messaging within brand guidelines
- Research and develop a repository of traditional and digital vendors that are strategic fits in our media planning and buying with a focus on creating and sustaining these relationships along with Head of Marketing & Brand
- Help manage an Influencer Marketing Programs and Local Business Partnership collaborations along with Social Impact
- Develop additional marketing opportunities to increase ticket sales when needed
- Keep a pulse on current marketing and social media trends to brainstorm new ideas and concepts with co-creatives
- Maintain and fine-tune project management and best practices playbooks to elevate department’s best practices and effectiveness
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- 2-3 years in brand development, campaign strategy and/or marketing/media strategy in Sports or Entertainment Vertical
- Exposure to the following marketing channels with a specialization in traditional/digital preferred: Influencer, Email/Text, Social, Traditional, Digital
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, if absolutely needed, in alignment with the WNBA Season
- Self-starter mentality that can take risks in new initiatives
- Prior people management experience is a plus
- Able to juggle concurrent projects or duties
- Strong written and verbal skills, sharp organizational and time-management skills
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- 2-3 Years of Relevant Experience required, Entertainment Vertical is preferred
- This position is not remote and must adhere to in-office protocol
