An upcoming Breaking Bad movie from the original series creator Vince Gilligan is set to start production this November 2018 in New Mexico.
According to the Albuquerque Journal, the movie will begin shooting under the name “Greenbrier” in mid-November and will film through February 2019.
According to reports, the project is said to track the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom. The New Mexico film office told the Albuquerque Journal a movie with the title “Greenbrier” was set to begin shooting next month.
Details about the movie are being kept under wraps, and it is unclear if any of the show’s original characters are expected to return. It is also unclear whether the project is headed for box office or will air on TV.
Gilligan recently signed a three-year overall deal with Sony Pictures TV in July, where his production company has been set up for the past 11 years.
Breaking Bad ran for five seasons across six years on AMC from 2007 to 2013. A spinoff following the character Saul Goodman, played by Bob Odenkirk, just finished its fourth season in October 2018.
