Seeking Non-Equity men and women who can sing, improvise and engage an audience (and have no shame!) THIS IS AN R-RATED SHOW.

In “I Do?,” two Millennial idiots visit Dr. Barry Rubenowitz, an acclaimed therapist and podcast host, for relationship advice and mentoring. Kiko Bernstein and Sunday Funday (do NOT call her Beth Anne Dooley) swiped right… but it’s going so wrong. This brand-new show will launch privately at Exit/In in May (with the original cast) and perform regularly at Third Coast Comedy Club thereafter (TBD, with alternate cast and swings as needed).

ROLE: KIKO BERNSTEIN
Male 28-35 Black. (range: Baritenor) Jewish Boyfriend of “Sunday Funday.” A Black man adopted by a crazy Jewish family, Kiko has a cannabis infusion business and loves smoking weed. He is more than happy to marry Sunday, but her hesitation frustrates him. Must be able to sing and embrace physical comedy.

 

ROLE: SUNDAY FUNDAY
Female 26-30 All ethnicities welcome. (range: soprano) Real estate agent girlfriend of Kiko Bernstein. Bubbly, casually sexy, and flirty. “Lucille Ball” comedy style. She is in love with Kiko and works with him in a therapy session to settle their relationship challenges, including their vastly different families, her family’s racism, and her own emotional hang-ups.

 

ROLE: DR. BARRY RABINOWITZ (Therapist)
Male 45-65 All ethnicities welcome (range: Baritone or Tenor) Therapist to Kiko Bernstein & Sunday Funday, He moderates with humor, interacts with the audience, plays a mean bongo, and embraces sarcastic wit while simultaneously hosting the “show.”

Casting Call: Performers for “The Blackbird Trilogy” Showcase

Job Description:

Helene Gale Casting is seeking talented performers to join the Greek Chorus for “The Blackbird Trilogy”, an 18-minute musical exploration piece. This showcase will be featured at the International Human Rights Arts Festival in Manhattan. The Greek Chorus serves as a physical manifestation of Lindsey Wilson’s modern freedom folk songs, bringing her powerful lyrics to life through movement and expression.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform as part of the Greek Chorus, using physical expression, dance, and improvisation to embody the emotions and themes of the music.
  • Attend several rehearsals and a technical rehearsal to ensure a polished final performance.
  • Participate in one live performance.

Requirements:

  • Performers must have experience in dance, clowning, or mime.
  • Strong improvisational skills and the ability to incorporate physical expression into musical performance.
  • Seeking the following specific performers:
    • Black female performers (25+)
    • Disabled male or female performers
    • Indigenous male or female performers

Virtual Open Call for The Lost Boys Musical Workshop

Job Description:
We are thrilled to announce a virtual open call for the developmental workshop of The Lost Boys, an exciting new musical adaptation of the iconic 1987 Warner Bros. film. With music by The Rescues and under the direction of Tony Award winner Michael Arden, this production promises to bring fresh energy and innovation to the Off-Broadway stage.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Rehearse and perform in the The Lost Boys developmental workshop.
  • Collaborate closely with the creative team, including the director, music supervisor, and fellow cast members.
  • Deliver compelling performances that bring the iconic characters and story to life.
  • Participate in feedback sessions to refine and enhance the production.

Requirements:

  • Strong vocal abilities in rock-style singing (specific vocal ranges vary by role).
  • Proficiency in playing rock band instruments (preferred for certain roles).
  • Ability to embody the unique traits and personalities of the characters.
  • Availability for rehearsals and performances in New York, NY from approximately February 10, 2025, to March 15, 2025.

Compensation:

  • Weekly minimum: $701.10 (Tier 4 – Development, Off-Broadway).
  • AEA contract, with benefits and protections as per union guidelines.

  • Michael: Male, 17-18, Rock Bari-tenor. Brooding protector of his family.
  • Sam: Male, 18+ to play 15, High rock tenor. Witty and outgoing.
  • David: Male, 20s, Rock Bari-tenor. Charismatic leader of the Lost Boys.
  • Star: Female, 17-18, High rock belt. Troubled and fiercely protective.
  • Edgar Frog: Male, 18+ to play 14-15, Rock tenor. Militant vampire hunter.
  • Alan Frog: Any gender, 18+ to play 14, Rock alto. Intense and combat-obsessed.
  • Marko, Paul, Dwayne: Male, 20s, Strong rock voices. Loyal members of the Lost Boys, ideally with rock band instrument skills.

Casting Non-Union Male Stage Performers for U.S. Version of “The Naked Magicians”

Job Description: Asylum Casting is seeking charismatic, non-union male performers for the U.S. adaptation of the popular Australian stage show, “The Naked Magicians.” This comedic, magic-infused stage show is known for its mix of humor, charm, and partial nudity. The show requires confident, personable performers who can entertain and captivate audiences with both stage presence and comedic timing. No prior magic experience is necessary, although it is an advantage.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform live on stage as part of a weekly theater contract.
  • Engage with the audience through comedic timing and improv.
  • Deliver a confident and professional performance while partially nude, in line with the show’s theme.

  • Physically fit and in great aesthetic shape.
  • No prior magic experience needed, but is considered a plus.
