About the role

This is a full time, on-site role for an Art Director for WNDR Global (headquartered out of Chicago, IL).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as an Art Director or Designer in a similar creative role with a track record of success in developing and executing brand campaigns
  • Exceptional portfolio showcasing strong conceptual skills and a range of design styles across various projects and mediums.
  • Proficiency in design software/tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or other relevant programs.
  • Video editing skills are a plus
  • Strong understanding of branding, typography, color theory, and layout design.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovation and storytelling through visuals.
  • Understanding of the art and entertainment industry, with knowledge of relevant trends, artists, and events

What a typical week might look like

  • Use your creativity to impart a little WNDR on the world.
  • Be part of the Marketing team.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing leadership to define and evolve the WNDR brand, ensuring alignment with WNDR’s mission, values, and audience expectations.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent and compelling visual identity across all touchpoints, including exhibitions, marketing materials, online platforms, and merchandise, to reinforce the WNDR brand presence.
  • Lead the design and implementation of brand guidelines, visual systems, and design templates to ensure brand consistency.
  • Own the concepting and creation of captivating visual content, including content for social media, graphics, digital media, promotional materials, museum signage, and more
  • Ideate and create world class advertising campaigns and executions
  • Leverage visual storytelling and design to enhance brand awareness, engagement, and audience reach.
  • Monitor industry trends, regional and cultural nuances, and audience feedback to adapt and refine the WNDR brand strategy accordingly.
  • Produce world class marketing that you are proud of.

Role Description

This is a full time, on-site role for a Director of Marketing for the WNDR company (headquartered out of Chicago, IL). As the Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for developing and executing direct to consumer and limited B2B marketing strategies, overseeing media relations/PR/digital & traditional advertising, and managing social media and online presence. You will also work closely with the team to ideate/engineer and deliver delightful and meaningful experiences to visitors, establish the WNDR brand as a leading voice in art and technology, and drive brand awareness and visitor growth.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, with a proven track record of success in developing and executing digital and more traditional marketing strategies to drive visitor growth within a Ticketed and/or Hospitality business.
  • Especially beneficial will be experience marketing direct-to-consumer and developing a CRM from the ground up.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence the team and deliver effective presentations to stakeholders
  • Expertise in social media and digital marketing, with knowledge of SEO, SEM, email marketing, and web analytics tools
  • Understanding of the art and entertainment industry, with knowledge of relevant trends, artists, and events
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, communications, or a related field

WNDR Museum – Assistant General Manager 

ABOUT THE ROLE

WNDR is seeking an Assistant General Manager who is passionate about delivering joy and delight to guests, who will be responsible for the operations and overall guest experience of WNDR visitors, who will help oversee the merchandise and food & beverage experience, and will assist in executing on WNDR Chicago’s growth plans.

WNDR’s Assistant General Manager will work closely with the WNDR GM and will help manage personnel (WNDR Ambassadors, Floor Managers, Events, Facility Maintenance, and others), oversee strategic and tactical enhancements of the guest experience, and oversee activity related to WNDR artworks (including routine maintenance, condition reports, and installation). Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to): (1) Interaction with guests to address any on-site concerns/needs, (2) Overseeing managers on duty, (3) Developing ongoing training programs for all personnel, and (4) Ensuring the facilities are maintained with high standards for safety, cleanliness, and appearance.

Desired Skills and Experience, and Expectations related to Role:

  • 2+ years experience managing others (with accountability for all operations); hospitality (entertainment venue, F&B, museum, lodging, etc.) or retail background a plus
  • Flexible working schedule to include day, evening, and weekend shifts, including on-site presence for special events, installations, or other museum related activities.
  • Integrity must be at the core of your values
  • Passion to represent WNDR with professionalism, clear communication, high integrity, and enthusiasm for our purpose and mission
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to organize, direct, and manage projects, work independently, and demonstrate sound judgment – holding yourself accountable for activity and results under your leadership
  • Technology Skills: Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook; Familiarity with project management software (Asana/Basecamp); Proficiency with retail and restaurant software applications (POS/Aloha/Opentable/Resy); Familiarity with CAD or other design software a plus.
  • Ability and initiative to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, volunteers, supervisors, and public officials
