FutureDeluxe is a global creative studio with offices in London, New York, Los Angeles and Sydney. We combine design, technology and moving image to craft visual experiences for future facing brands. We are a diverse group of artists, directors, designers, creative technologists and administrative professionals who thrive in an environment based on experimentation, collaboration and innovation. From concept through to final delivery, we collaborate with brands to explore, imagine and define their future vision.

The Opportunity

– Collaborate with our clients and project leadership team to generate inspiring, creative and strategic ideas that capture our clients’ business needs and transform them into elegantly designed solutions

– Contribute to production planning, pitch asset creation, capabilities presentations etc., providing your insights into resource planning and budgets to support realistic and creative solutions

– Lead pitches, pushing briefs beyond their original inception towards innovative new aesthetics

– Oversee creative teams across multiple productions from pitch to launch, acting as a creative sounding board as they lead the daily workflow

– Provide inspiration and insight, ensuring that high creative standards are maintained throughout the production process 

– Proactively collaborate to develop initiatives that foster community and connection among the team with the people team

– Mentor and grow our creative team, providing inspiring and empowering feedback that builds confidence and skills both on and off the box

– Act as a thought leader for the creative team, leading workshops and skill building sessions to develop the skills of the artists

– Pursue endless boundary-pushing opportunities, striving to acquire new skills related to software, animation, and design

– Infuse your work with your knowledge of current trends in areas including typography, fashion, architecture, and contemporary art

FutureDeluxe (FD) is an experimental creative studio with a focus in design, technology and moving image.

We’re a collection of highly collaborative studios – currently based in London, LA, New York and Sydney – deeply connected by a shared sense of identity and desire to create the future.

At FutureDeluxe we have built our brand around delivering world class creative – often through CG and digital mediums. We are looking for a design led conceptual thinker, someone passionate about brand visual story telling whilst also having a desire to create world class design. You’ll direct high profile projects from concept to final delivery, setting the overall creative vision and ensuring the final output amazes and delights our clients, as well as the internal team. Working in collaboration with the other Directors. Our LA studio is home to some of the world’s most talented artists, directors and producers working together, and inspiring each other daily.  Key responsibilities

• Lead (and hopefully win????) pitches by exciting and inspiring clients, pushing their briefs beyond their original inception toward innovative new aesthetics, cutting-edge technologies while incorporating fresh design based approaches.
• Work with Production to scope out projects in terms of team, resources and schedules while being mindful of budget and for-seeing potential challenges along the way.
• Take projects and lead them from pitch phase all the way to final delivery, working with our FD team as well as freelancers to push the creative and finish every step of the way.
• Mentor, guide and champion young talent at FD.

Essential skills & experience

• Strong design background.
• Experience directing large and small teams.
• Excellent communication skills leading internal teams and clients through project development.
• A complete understanding of the entire CG production process
• A strong eye for design, composition and colour.
• Able to create strong style frames, but also execute through production to delivery.
• In-depth knowledge of C4D and/or Houdini + Redshift.
• A strong understanding of project workflows.
• High level of execution in 3 of these areas:
• Look Development & Texturing
• 3D Animation and/or simulation
• Scene assembly & lighting
• Concept development & research
• Compositing (AE and/or Nuke)
• Technical problem-solving & workflows
• Team leader, wanting to work within a collaborative environment.
• An interest in emerging technologies and techniques.
• Excellent communicator within the team as well as to clients and production.
