Isaacson’s biography is being adapted for a movie developed by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) and directed by Danny Boyle. The upcoming movie will focus on Jobs’ relationship with seven other characters, including cofounder Steve Wozniak, former CEO John Sculley and Joanna Hoffman, Apple’s original head of Mac marketing. Michael Fassbender will portray Jobs and Seth Rogen will star as Steve Wozniak. While Sony Pictures initially acquired the rights to the book from author Walter Isaacson, it later withdrew from the project, with Universal Studios picking up the film a week later.

After Aaron Sorkin finished the script a number of individuals were approached to direct and star in the upcoming feature film. Initially, David Fincher, who previously collaborated with Sorkin on The Social Network, was considered to direct though he stated that he would only take the movie if Christian Bale played Steve Jobs. Fincher dropped out of the project, however, after Sony Pictures was unwilling to give him total marketing control and a $10 million upfront fee. Thereafter, Danny Boyle was invited to direct the project and he hoped to cast Leonardo DiCaprio as Steve Jobs. DiCaprio, however, left the project leaving Bale, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Bradley Cooper in consideration for the role.

While Bale entered into negotiations to portray Jobs, and initially appeared to accept the part, he eventually left the film. Natalie Portman was under consideration, but eventually parted from the film. During the 2014 Sony hacking, much information was revealed about the development of the film and personnel changes in various heated email exchanged between Amy Pascal and Scott Rudin.

The upcoming ‘Steve Jobs‘ movie centers around the 3 product launches of Apple in the 1980s and 1990s. Casting directors are looking for extras to play Café Patrons, Audience, Press & repeating Core Roles: Engineers, Marketing teams, Interns, Technicians, etc. with paid wardrobe fittings required.

Producers are looking for men between the ages of 18 to 40s with long hair and facial hair to match the 1980s to 1990s time periods. Women should have natural hair colors, and no chunky highlights or modern hair styles. Filming is set to start in late January until late March.
