Leila Akers

Of half Indian and half English heritage, I grew up in Auckland, New Zealand, where I began my pre-professional dance training in contemporary and ballet. My passion for dance took me to the other side of the world where I I graduated with a First-Class Bachelor of Honours Degree in Contemporary Dance from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in the UK. I then moved to Berlin to train and perform with DART Dance Company, while also working as a Barre instructor. I am now back in New Zealand working freelance as a strength and conditioning coach for pre-professional dancers and training to be a Pilates instructor.
