Leah Helmbrecht

I've been a Nurse for 16 years and currently working in Denver, CO as an Acute Care Discharge Nurse and MedSpa Nurse. I also work remote through UNC Chapel Hill Psychology Research Department. We are running studies on post trauma care for sexual assault survivors. For the last 4 years I worked as a Forensic Nurse Examiner/Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, caring for patients who experienced Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Human Sex Trafficking along with testifying in court. I also do podcasting through nurse.org to spread awareness on these topics. Prior to this I was a Traveling Operating Room Nurse and worked OR for 11 years. I love to travel and encourage other to as well by hosting international group trips for healthcare workers. I think stories through TV shows and movies are a great way to spread awareness about certain topics and I would love to share my expertise to depict an accurate representation of the roles being created.
