Kay Ban

Kayla Banks is an Afro-Indigenous performing artist, movement artist, model, and cultural storyteller whose work explores truth-telling, embodiment, and ancestral connection. With more than a decade of experience across theater, film, television, dance, and commercial modeling, she creates performances that bridge contemporary movement with Indigenous and Afro-diasporic storytelling traditions. Her credits include Bear Grease, Made to Dance in Burning Buildings at The Public Theater, Above a Whisper, and work with Dancing Earth. Based between Denver and New York City, Kayla is also a choreographer and community-engaged artist committed to using performance as a tool for cultural remembrance, healing, and social change.
