‘Walking Dead’ Fans Promise to Boycott After Season 7 Premiere

Viewers have vowed to boycott the new season of The Walking Dead following the season 7 premiere.

The first episode of the series featured more horrifying scenes than usual, and many fans said they were never going to watch the show again.

The zombie drama returned at the beginning of the week with the highly anticipated season opener, but fans were shocked by the amount of blood and gore.

The episode featured shocking death scenes, which showed popular characters getting killed off the show.

Many people took to twitter and promised to boycott the show because of the disturbing scenes.

One person tweeted: “F**K YOU @WalkingDead_AMC NEVER WATCHING AGAIN!…”

And another Walking Dead fan added: “Im [sic] never watching walking dead again. Was already at a downfall last season n now they are trying too hard to keep fans, just lost one here.”

Many people took to Twitter to complain about the episode especially the scenes involving Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. They insisted the gore left them feeling sick. One wrote: “I gave up on the walking dead last night. Got too vomit-inducing for me!…”

But, there was a method to the show’s madness. Both Scott Gimple and Robert Kirkman appeared on Talking Dead after Sunday’s premiere, claiming both Abraham and Glenn’s deaths were in the works about two years (via EW):

I think the hardest thing about it was thinking while starting the script, ‘Well, what would break Rick?’ It was all in the book, in issue 100. But looking for a way to break the audience too. Not in a way that is in any way to hurt them, but for them to believe that Rick Grimes would be under the thumb of Negan. That he would go through an experience that would do that to him. That the audience would go through the experience too, so that they would believe that Rick could do what this guy says.

In addition, Steven Yeun claims to have actively lobbied for his own exit:

You read that comic, you kind of don’t want that to go to anyone else. It’s such an iconic moment and I think I even said, ‘Don’t give that to anybody else.’ It’s such a gnarly thing to say but sincerely, living that out was very wild but at the same time, that moment happening and being realized on television in a different medium and to do it in the way that we did it I think is brave and at the same time super affecting. And for me, that was the motivation to be like, ‘Yeah, that sounds great.’

A newly released Walking Dead scene shows a different Negan victim.

The Walking Dead spoiler alert

Producers of the hit AMC TV series The Walking Dead revealed they shot multiple versions of the pivotal death scene including new villain Negan that took place during the Season 7 premiere on Sunday. It was mostly done to stop spoilers from leaking before the Season 7 premiere.

According to Deadline, someone in The Walking Dead camp thought it was okay to release alternate versions on YouTube and they have quickly gone viral. The scene, though not high-quality, shows Lauren Cohan’s Maggie getting killed.

About Last Flag Flying:

According to reports, Bryan Cranston, Steve Carell and Laurence Fishburne will star in the sequel to Last Flag Flying, a sequel to the 1974 Jack Nicholson movie The Last Detail. Jack Nicholson, Randy Quaid and Otis Young starred in the moving adaptation of Darryl Ponsican’s novel of the same name, about two members of the Navy showing a third a good time while escorting him to prison for petty crime.

“Last Flag Flying” catches up with the main trio later in life, as the Quaid character (presumably Carell in this version) requests his old friends’ help bringing home the body of his son, who died in the Iraq War.

Producers are looking for seductive dancers and a female DJ. Filming will take place in Atlanta, Georgia and casting directors are looking for talent between the ages of 18 to 50 to work on the hit TV series.

Over 900 props from The Twilight saga are going up for auction.

If you have ever considered yourself a die-hard Twilight fan, then this is your chance to buy over 900 pieces of wardrobe, props, and set pieces from The Twilight Saga films are now up for auction.

The full auction features items from all five feature films, including full outfits worn by the characters, pieces of furniture from their homes, a crashed motorcycle, Edward’s sunglasses, and Bella’s engagement ring.

Each item has a minimum bid, as well as a potential estimate of what it might go for.

The auction goes live on November 19th through the 20th at the TCL Chinese Theaters in Hollywood, but you can bid online now.

Parents Thought ‘The Walking Dead’ Premiere Was Too Violent

The Parents Television Council was not too happy with the season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead, saying the episode was too violent.

“Last night’s season premiere of The Walking Dead was one of the most graphically violent shows we’ve ever seen on television, comparable to the most violent of programs found on premium cable networks,” council president Tim Winter said. “It’s not enough to ‘change the channel,’ as some people like to advocate, because cable subscribers – regardless of whether they want AMC or watch its programming – are still forced to subsidize violent content. This brutally-explicit show is a powerful demonstration of why families should have greater control over the TV networks they purchase from their cable and satellite providers.”

The premiere episode shocked fans by showing two of the show’s favorite characters get murdered in cold blood. Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) are seen beaten to death with a baseball bat wrapped in razor-wire in a scene found horrorific.

Winter, who only saw clips oft he episode, told The Hollywood Reporter that the TV-MA rated episode pushed its boundaries.

“When you look at the definition of MA and what content of the show is, it’s unquestionable they chose what best represented the content,” he said. “This certainly raises question of if there should be an even more severe rating than TV-MA.”
