Marvel is now hiring new stand-ins for Avengers: Infinity War movie.

About The Avengers:

Disney plans to release Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War” as one film with production expected to begin later this summer in Atlanta, Georgia.  Avengers: Infinity War is the upcoming sequel to The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron. The movie is set to hit theaters on May 4, 2018. Details surrounding the new Avengers movie have not been released. However, the comic book character Thanos will serve as the main antagonist of the film, with the plot revolving around the Infinity Gauntlet and the six Infinity Stones. According to IMDB, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, Samuel L. Jackson and Josh Brolin will star in the new Avengers: Infinity War movie.

That’s right – NBC has sponsored this year’s Groundlings Diversity Scholarship and those selected and granted a full scholarship will be able to take acting classes at the world renowned Groundlings theater and school in Los Angeles, California.

What is Groundlings?

Groundlings is an improvisation and sketch comedy theatre in LA, which has been entertaining audiences for over 40 years. As a non-profit organization founded by Gary Austin in 1975, Groundling is a company of 30 members who write and perform in the theater’s shows and teach classes at the Groundlings School.

The school is known as the training comedy ground in Hollywood and has helped launched dozens of careers including:

By what criteria are applications reviewed? 

The Groundlings School is actively seeking to increase its population of racially/ethnically diverse students. With that in mind, applications are reviewed according to the following criteria:

  • Do they convey a sincere desire to train at The Groundlings?

‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8 Starts Filming in Atlanta Next Week

Filming for the new season of The Walking Dead is reportedly set to begin next week. That said, fans will have to wait another six months to see what cast and crew have in store for season eight.

At the end of season seven, the war in Alexandria started with a fierce battle between Rick and Megan.

Chandler Riggs, the actor who plays Carl on the hit TV series, spending his last few days before production starts reading the script and memorizing lines. The actor took to Twitter to tell fans that he not only received the script for season eight but he also revealed how much he loved it.

“Just finished reading 8×01 of The Walking Dead and, oh man, it’s so good,” Riggs said.

Riggs is one of the very few actors to still be alive since the early episodes of The Walking Dead. In fact, no one has been on the show longer than roots or the actor playing his father, Andrew Lincoln. The two actors are the only ones who appear in the series premier and are alive in season 8.

Now that Rick has read the script, he can’t share crazy theories or discuss plot details with fans about what might happen.

“To be honest, the coolest part of every year for me is between the airing of the season finale and getting the first script of the new season,” Riggs wrote, also in young-person Twitter language. “Mainly because I get to speculate with fans on what will happen without any bias.”

The Walking Dead will return for a season in October 2017. The first trailer for the new season of The Walking Dead will arrive at San Diego comic con in July.

Chris Pratt was “Intimidated” By an ‘Avengers’ Cast Member

Chris Pratt may be known for his jokes, but the actor revamped his public image when he became a leading acting A – list movie star. The actor transitioned into his new movie star status when marvels brought him in for Guardians of the Galaxy. The actor lost dozens of pounds for the movie role and toned his physique in the process. That said, it does not mean Pratt cannot be intimidated by other actors as the movie star recently learned when he met another superhero onset of the Atlanta-filmed Avengers: Infinity War.

According to Pratt, the star was little more than intimidated by Chris Hemsworth, the actor who was known for playing for in the series. Pratt says he fell in love with the Australian star.

According to an interview with Fandango, practice holds reporters, “I was a little secretly intimidated.”

“Chris Hemsworth, he’s so tall and handsome — I had to go home and look myself in the mirror and say, you know, there’s a possibility that you just might be one of those guys who mostly loves your wife but also kind of loves Chris Hemsworth a little bit too.”

Hopefully, fans will be able to see a little bit of the chemistry between Chris Pratt and Chris Hemsworth on the big screen.

The Rock’s Instagram Proves That He’s Not Only a Great Actor But an Amazing Dad

Dwayne Johnson’s new movie rampage is ramping up production in Atlanta. You would assume that an actor who starred in the most popular movie of 2017 and is now working on another blockbuster production will have little time to no time to spend with his family. But if you follow him on Instagram you can clearly see he loves his family.

With the birth of his daughter, Jasmine, and 2015, Dwayne Johnson can’t help but share cute and amazing photos on his Instagram page. Johnson frequently posts pictures and videos of himself hanging out with his youngest daughter. On Easter, he posted a video of himself chasing her around in a giant Pikachu costume.

On Wednesday, Dwayne Johnson added another cute daddy – daughter moments with the Instagram collection with a picture sitting on the steps.

The Rock explains that he was trying to tell her about his plans for her and how she will grow up to be healthy and smart.

“By 5, you’ll be looking people in the eye when you firmly shake their hand.

By 8, you’ll know how to fish, drive daddy’s pick up truck and do cardio.

And by 10, you’ll be able to directly say to people, “Great job, I like it a lot, but let’s see how we can make it better”.”

It is adorable that Johnson has plans for his daughter that involve her growing up to be strong and accomplish anything she puts her mind to. However, driving a truck by age eight is a little ambitious.

Casting directors are looking for men and women with cars from 1985 to 2000 to work on a scene filming this Friday, April 21 in Atlanta. Producers are also looking for Washington DC types also work on camera on the movie. Talents will be compensated $64 for eight hours plus a $35 bump for the car. She filming will take place in downtown Atlanta.

HBO’s Divorce season 2 is now casting hip party types in NYC.

Casting directors are now casting nonunion actors to portray hip partygoers and hedge fund types. Producers are looking for all ethnicities in their 30s. Filming will take place on Friday, April 21 in New York City.

HBO’s TV Pilot ‘Here, Now’ Open Casting Call in Portland, Oregon

HBO’s new TV pilot Here, Now is now casting extras in Portland, Oregon.

Casting directors are holding an open casting call for the new HBO TV series starring Tim Robbins and Holly Hunter in Portland, Oregon.

According to Oregon Live, Portland’s Cast Iron Studios put out a casting call and that hundreds of extras are needed between April 24 and 26.

The call is for “general background performers, experienced stand-ins, photo doubles, Portland hipster types, and extras who own vehicles, bicycles and pets.”

The casting call is for non-union background performers, not principal roles and the “pay starts at minimum wage (8-hour guarantee, plus overtime) for general background, between $100-$150/day for other positions. Background performers can also earn bumps for the use of their cars, bicycles, pets, etc.”

There are two ways to apply: 1) submit the Extras Form by the evening of April 19 or 2) attend directly the open casting call this Saturday, April 22nd between 11am and 4pm at Cast Iron Studios (1430 SE 3rd Ave, Suite 100, Portland, OR 97214).

About Here, Now:

The show focuses on a couple that adopts 3 children (from Somalia, Vietnam and Colombia) and has a biological child. They start having problems when one of the children begins to see things that the others can’t.

‘Luke Cage’ Season 2 is Now Filming in New York

Production has officially started on the second season of Marvel’s Luke Cage. According to reports, earlier this week a tweet revealed that filming had begun in Port Washington, New York. Last season, Luke Cage films under the working title TIARA and it seems like season two will be doing the same. A second tweet revealed that Luke Cage may also be filming in another location in Yonkers, New York. While this isn’t confirmed, it is possible that the scenes may be Luke Cage related. In addition, actress Simone Messick confirmed that the cast as begun training for season two.

While the start of production may have caught many people off guard, it is exciting to know that Marvel is currently working on their hit TV series. Season one ended with Luke Cage pacing is passed and heading back to jail. The next part of his story will center around The Defenders which airs this August 18 on Netflix.

FOX’s ‘Showtime at the Apollo’ Atlanta Open Casting Call
