Josh Singer, who earned an Oscar for his Spotlight screenplay, wrote First Man based on James Hansen’s biography, First Man: A Life of Neil A. Armstrong. Gosling has reportedly been tied to the project since late last year, but only inked a deal to star in the film earlier this year.
After serving as a Navy pilot in World War II, Neil Armstrong joined the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, the precursor to NASA, as a test pilot and engineer. His first mission as an astronaut was Gemini 8 in 1962, during which he performed the first successful docking of two vehicles in space. On July 21st, 1969 he became the first person to walk on the moon as part of Apollo 11.

‘Stranger Things’ actor Noah Schnapp says he was not too happy with his audition.
The 13-year-old actor opened up during an interview with Just Jared’s RAW.
On his early acting days and auditioning for the Netflix series he says, “I remember going into the city four times a week for like Chase Bank and McDonald’s commercials. Then I started getting movie auditions, and I remember my first movie was with [Steven] Spielberg and Tom Hanks, which was pretty cool. They taught me all the basics and I just kept going.”
Schnapp added, “I remember auditioning for Stranger Things–it was called Montauk when we did it–and I had a horrible headache. It was raining, I was all wet and my ankles were full of mud. I got there and I was so tired. ‘Ugh, please let this be over with,’ I thought and then I got home and I was like, ‘Oh that wasn’t that good. I should’ve done better.’ Then I got a callback and it ended up being my first T.V. show.”
Schnapp also discussed his thoughts on the script. “I just remember reading it and it was just kind of this idea. No one ever thought it was going to do really well and become a big show. It was just like, ‘Okay, we’ll do this. It’ll be a one season thing and few people will watch it.’ Because there weren’t any billboards or advertising!”

It has been nearly a decade since Step Brothers hit theaters. However, comedy legend Will Ferrell has just given fans a glimmer of hope, as he has revealed details of a potential sequel.
The star spoke to the New York Daily News and said that not only had he and Adam McKay chatted about the idea of doing a sequel, they had actually dreamt up a storyline where Brennan and Dale retire with their long-suffering parents.
The plot revolves around the pair moving to a retirement village – presumably with even more room for activities.
“We talked about Step Brothers and then Adam and I got sidetracked with other things,” Ferrell explained.
“We had a whole story where John (C. Reilly) and I follow our parents to live in a retirement community and try to convince them that we earned the right to retire as well.”
Despite the popularity of the first movie, Ferrell said that the idea of making a sequel is a catch 22.
“The sequel thing is so funny because we decided obviously to go down the road with Anchorman, and we made what I thought was a really great sequel, really funny,” he said. “The entertainment media and fans beg you, and beg you, and beg you for sequels, and then you make it and you definitely have a fraction that’s like, ‘Well, not as good as the first one’. So I guess it’s a catch-22. It’s a nice catch-22 because people love the movies in the first place.”
Director Adam McKay says he wouldn’t rule out the possibility of revisiting Step Brothers either, telling Rolling Stone that he thinks Dale and Brennan will get even funnier as they get older.
“Maybe we’d do it in 10 years,” he said. “I said ‘no’ at one point. And then I realised it was foolish of me to say that, because the older they get, the funnier the joke may get. I definitely would not say no to that now. For a second I did, just ’cause comedy sequels are like the hardest thing to do ’cause half the joke’s out of the bag already.”
Tapings of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon have been canceled for the week of November 6th through the 10th following the death of Jimmy Fallon’s mother, according to a statement from NBC.
“On behalf of everyone at NBC, we extend our deepest condolences to Jimmy and all his family at this time of enormous loss,” said NBC in a statement. “Our hearts go out to Jimmy and everyone else whose lives were so touched by Gloria Fallon’s love, kindness and support.”
Fallon’s mother, Gloria, died Saturday at a New York hospital. Her death came one day after NBC canceled a taping of “The Tonight Show” due to her illness.
“Jimmy Fallon’s mother, Gloria, died peacefully on Saturday,” a Fallon family spokesperson said in a press statement. “Jimmy was at his mother’s bedside, along with her loved ones, when she passed away at NYU Langone Medical Center in NYC. Our prayers go out to Jimmy and his family as they go through this tough time.”
Fallon’s mother was ill and in a hospital at the time of the Tonight Show cancellation according to Variety.
In a 2004 New York magazine interview, Fallon described his childhood. “My dad was in Vietnam, and he was in a doo-wop group,” Fallon said. “My mom was like a total square; she wasn’t allowed to leave her stoop in Brooklyn. She was a nun for about a month, but then she was like, ‘You know what? I didn’t get the calling!’ Ha!”

About The Gifted:
The Gifted is an upcoming American television series created for Fox by Matt Nix, based on Marvel Comics’ X-Men properties. It is connected to the X-Men film series, the second television series to be so. The show is produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association with Marvel Television, with Nix serving as showrunner.
The series stars Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker as ordinary parents who take their family on the run after they discover their children’s mutant abilities. Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Percy Hynes White also star in the show. The series received a put pilot commitment at Fox after a previous attempted X-Men series did not move forward at the network in 2016; The Gifted was ordered to series in May 2017.

Netflix discovered some impressive numbers about who is watching Stranger Things 2. The analytics company said a “significant viewing event occurred” when the Netflix series returned on October 27th for its second season. Within the first three days, Episode 1 averaged a jaw-dropping 15.8 million U.S. viewers and nearly 11 million in the critical demographic watched the show. Nielsen also revealed that all of the nine new episodes averaged 4 million viewers and 3 million in the key demo.
The binge-watching crowd also was adamant about watching the entire series on the first day. In fact, Nielsen reports 361,000 people binge-watched all nine episodes on the first day.
But, here’s the kicker – Nielsen only tracked TV viewing and not the number of viewers on mobile devices, which may suggest Stranger Things had more than 15.8 million viewers.
Meanwhile, The Walking Dead, another Georgia-filmed production, is going through a rating crisis. Last Sunday’s episode drew a 4.0 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic, which was “the lowest for the show since March 11, 2012 — the next-to-last episode of season two. TWD’s 8.92 million viewers were the least since the season two finale.”
