SFFILM, previously known as the San Francisco Film Society, has announced a partnership with Vulcan Productions for a new opportunity for aspiring filmmakers looking to tell stories about the most important conservation and environmental issue facing our planet.

“Stories about the environment and conservation that inform and enlighten have never been more important. SFFILM is the perfect partner to support emerging filmmakers in telling these vital stories. Through the SFFILM/Vulcan Environmental Fellowship, we hope to enable greater storytelling on today’s critical environmental issues,” Carole Tomko, General Manager and Creative Director of Vulcan Productions explains.

The fellowship is open to all documentary filmmakers around the world, as long as they can travel to San Francisco to get support from the SFFILM FilmHouse Residency. If you land the fellowship, it not only comes with $25,000 but an advisor on your environmental topic, and access to SFFILM’s artist development services. It also provides travel to San Francisco and Seattle for workshops in filmmaking, the environment, and the entertainment industry.

If you think climate change is fake, you should not apply. Otherwise, get started on the SFFILM application, and best of luck! The deadline is Monday, March 5th.

Another background extra was upgraded to a speaking role on the set of Stephen King’s Mr. Mercedes.

TW Casting, the extras casting company behind AT&T’s Mr. Mercedes Season 2, revealed on Facebook that a background actor was upgraded to a speaking role this week.

Congrats to Sumner Crawford on being upgraded to a speaking role on Mr. Mercedes Season 2! It was well deserved, especially after all the schedule changes he accommodated! Can’t wait to see what this season has in store for the rest of my awesome extras!

Mr. Mercedes season 2 is now filming in Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Mercedes, based on Stephen King’s 2014 book of the same name, follows a demented killer who taunts a retired police detective with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again.

This is not the first time a background actor as upgraded to a speaking role. Recently, on set of Kevin Hart’s new movie Night School, a background actor was also upgraded to a principal speaking role. Tyler Perry also has a history of upgrading background extras to speaking roles.

‘The Four’ Season 2 Nationwide Open Casting Call

0

The Four Season 2 starring Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Fergie, and DJ Khaled is now casting and holding auditions.

The Four is holding online auditions, and they are searching for talent across the country.

Fox has renewed its talent competition, The Four, for a second season. The Fox network announced the show would be picked up for another season before the Season 1 finale of The Four: Battle for Stardom. Fox is bringing back that singing-reality TV series.

The show features music industry professionals and influencers such as Sean Combs, DJ Khaled, and Meghan Trainor. The show is now casting talented singers nationwide and seeking people who would love to audition for the coveted spot on the primetime singing competition series. The show is hosted by pop superstar Fergie.

The Four premiered on Fox on January 4th and quickly became one of FOX’s highest-rated unscripted TV series. The show only ran for six weeks and ended with the finale on February 8th. No word yet as to how many episodes season 2 will bring as of yet.

Season one of The Four: Battle for Stardom was created by Armoza Formats. ITV Entertainment produces the reality competition series along with Armoza Formats. Sean Combs is also named as one of the show’s producers.

What is The Four?

The Four is a singing competition series. The winner of the show wins a record deal with Republic Records. The premise of the show is that the singer winning the competition will have an opportunity to be mentored by the panel of four music moguls with the goal of the winner becoming a super music star. The show takes on the last standing reality format in which singers fight it out with music on stage.

According to FOX, auditions are open to nearly anyone. Challengers could be fans singing in the show one week, and showing the world what they can do on stage the next. Viewers who think they’ve got what it takes to compete and beat the four singers onstage will have the opportunity to submit an audition video.  America will have the chance to decide who is brought onto the show by voting on the available streamed auditions and influencing which challengers will take on The Four and beat their competition.

Want to audition for The Four?

Does your voice stop a crowd? Prove it! Film yourself singing whatever you want, wherever you want and post it on social. Be sure to challenge 4 of your friends and include #TheFourChallenge in your post. Do you have what it takes to battle for stardom?

Casting directors for the music shows have created an online process for those that would like to try out.  Check out this page for all the details.
