“The Deuce” centers around the story of the legalization and subsequent rise of the porn industry in New York’s Times Square from the early ’70s through the mid ’80s. The TV series will explore the rough world that existed there until the rise of HIV, violence and crack -cocaine. Vincent Martino and Frankie Martino, who were players in the Times Square world and became fronts for mob control of the volatile and lucrative sex industry. James Franco will play both twins in the new HBO series.

Filming under the code-name “BROOKLYN“, HBO is now filming across the state of Georgia as the new TV pilot. According to reports, the Watchmen series has received a working title of Brooklyn.

Created by Moore and Gibbons, Watchmen centers around the alternate history in which superheroes first emerged in the 1940s, drastically altering the course of history over the subsequent decades. Set in 1985, as the United States and the Soviet Union inch ever closer to World War III, the comic centers on the investigation into the murder of the former costumed government agent The Comedian, which leads to the discovery of a deadly conspiracy to defuse the powder keg and bring peace to the world at the expense of millions of lives.

According to Deadline, HBO has given a series order to a new supernatural drama series called The Outsider. The movie will star Ben Mendelsohn. The show comes from The Night Of co-creator/executive producer Richard Price, director-producer Jack Bender (Mr. Mercedes) Jason Bateman’s Aggregate Films, Temple Hill Entertainment, and MRC. Ozark star/director/executive producer Jason Bateman is set to direct the first two episodes and may star alongside Mendelsohn in the show.

The novel centers around an investigation into the gruesome murder of a local boy leads a seasoned cop and an unorthodox investigator to question everything “they believe to be real, as an insidious supernatural force edges its way into the case”.

Amazon Series, Kristen Wiig Movie Pull Out of Georgia Over Abortion Law

Two projects are leaving Georgia over the “Heartbeat Bill.”

According to reports, earlier this week director Reed Morano was expected to fly to Georgia to scout filming locations for a new TV series for Amazon Studios called “The Power.” The series is an adaptation of a novel by Naomi Alderman, where a young woman develops the power to release electricity from her fingers, changing the world in the process. Two location scouts hired by the show had been working in Savannah, Georgia in preparation for her arrival.

However, when Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed the anti-abortion law on May 7th, which bans abortion after six weeks, Morano decided to shut down any possibility of filming the show in Georgia.

“We had no problem stopping the entire process instantly,” Morano, who won an Emmy for directing three episodes of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, told TIME. “There is no way we would ever bring our money to that state by shooting there.”

While other producers and directors said they would boycott the state if the law goes into effect, Morano is one of the first directors to leave Georgia after the state passed the heartbeat bill publicly.

Kristen Wiig Pulls Out of filming in Georgia

Morano is not alone. According to TIME, a rep for actress Kristen Wiig also confirmed that her upcoming Lionsgate movie “Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar,” a project she co-wrote and will star in alongside Annie Mumolo, was also in preparations to film in Georgia until the signing of the bill.

If Hollywood continues to distance themselves, it could be damaging to Georgia’s economy. The industry hires nearly 100,000 people and generated $9.5 billion in total economic impact in 2018. “I think this is one of the ways where we know we can hit a state where it hurts,” Morano says.

People working in Georgia’s film industry are feeling “lost”

Time reports the effects of the boycott are already hurting the industry with producers searching elsewhere for filming locations. “I’m lost,” Tom Jordan, a cameraman, says. “I’ve been thinking about going out of state.”

But, Gov. Brian Kemp has dismissed the calls for a boycott, so far. “We are the party of freedom and opportunity. We value and protect innocent life — even though that makes C-list celebrities squawk,” the governor said at a Republican convention last weekend.

Can the Georgia Boycott work?

It is important to note, Hollywood’s boycott of Georgia’s film industry could work – it has worked in the past. In 1964, in response to Atlanta social conservatives refusing to meet with Martin Luther King Jr., the CEO of Coca-Cola threatened to move the company out of Atlanta. As NPR pointed out in a 2015 report, the ultimatum worked and the event quickly sold out.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp Calls Out “C-List” Actors Threatening Boycott Over Abortion Bill

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp calls out “C-List” actors threatening to boycott the state over the heartbeat bill.

According to Deadline, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp does not seem too bothered by the idea of a Hollywood boycott over the “heartbeat bill”.

Over the weekend, Kemp dismissed the boycotts as a “squawk” from “C-list celebrities” angry over Georgia and other states have passed abortion laws.

“He doesn’t seem to understand that men are a part of Impregnation. Somehow everything is always women’s responsibility,” Patricia Arquette tweeted, who has won an Academy Award,  BAFTA Award, Critics’ Choice Award, Golden Globe Award, Independent Spirit Award, Satellite Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award, along with many other critics prizes, for Best Supporting Actress.

Other Hollywood names who have spoken out against the law include the following Jameela Jamil, Natalie Portman, Judd Apatow, Ben Stiller, Sean Penn, Ron Howard, and Jason Bateman. It is important to note, Jason Bateman, who is currently filming season 3 of “Ozark” said he would not return if the bill becomes a law. Ron Howard also said his production company “Imagine Entertainment” will no longer film in Georgia if the bill becomes law.

Gov. Kemp delivered his response to the boycott at Georgia’s Republican convention. “I understand that some folks don’t like this new law. I’m fine with that,” he said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We’re elected to do what’s right – and standing up for precious life is always the right thing to do.”

Kemp added: “We are the party of freedom and opportunity. We value and protect innocent life — even though that makes C-list celebrities squawk.”

If so, then I have a great opportunity for you – a rosé influencer. This is not a fake job, it’s an actual position with wine brand Rosé All Day. Here’s how to become Rosé All Day’s rosé influencer and win thousands of dollars and a wine-fueled vacation.

If you want to spend your day promoting rosé, you might want to apply for Rosé All Day’s rosé influencer position. As you can imagine, the job comes with some great perks, including a $10,000 cash prize, a trip to Paris, France where the influencer will stay in the brand’s Chateau, the title of Rosé All Day’s newest influencer on the brand’s Instagram page, and wine.

The open casting call for the position starts on National Rosé Day, June 8, 2019. To land the job, influencers will have to follow Rosé All Day on Instagram and post rosé-related content with the hashtag #RoséAllDay from the starting date to Sept. 2.

According to the press release, judges will be looking for “beautiful imagery, personality, and clever captions” when judging contest entries. The press release says there is no limit to how many posts influencer hopefuls can share, saying “the more entrants choose to Rosé All Day and post about it, the more chances they have to win.”

Five people will be chosen after Labor Day weekend by a panel of judges, including influencer Ali Green, to advance to the next round. From there, the finalists will be asked to create one more post before the winner is chosen. According to the website, winners are judged first on the “quality of their content and captions” and second on the number of the posts.

The contest is open to people 21 years and older living in the U.S, and it runs from June 8, 2019 at 12:01 a.m. ET and Sept. 2, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

According to the press release, the winner will be “whisked away to France for a content creating a vacation and with bountiful Rosé All Day product for art directing, staging, and of course drinking.”

Talking about the contest Darren Restivo, Principal of Biagio Cru Wines & Spirits, the company behind Rosé All Day, said the company wants an influencer who catch the spirit of the rosé life. Restivo said,

The Rosé All Day brand was created based on the success and phenomenon of the #RoséAllDay lifestyle that has taken over our menus, our glasses, and our social feeds. To embrace the community from which we were born, we want to find someone who relates to this lifestyle to digitally encapsulate the Rosé All Day life.
