‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ Sequel Starring Robin Williams is Coming Soon

It has been more than twenty years since Robin Williams graced the screen as Mrs. Doubtfire.

The 1993 Chris Columbus comedy made more than $440 million world wide. Now, The Hollywood Reporter, reports that the Fox 2000 has a sequel in pre=production with both Robin Williams and Chris Columbus attached to return as star and director, respectively.

The orginal film as based on the 1987 Anne Fine’s novel, Madame Doubtfire, and featured Sally Field and Pierce Brosnan. The movie centers on the misadventures of an unemployed actor, Daniel Hillard, who, following his divorces, disguises himself as an elderly female nanny, allowing him to secretly masquerade his way back into the lives of his children.

FOX ‘Sleepy Hollow’ Season 2 Casting Call in North Carolina

Casting directors for FOX’s ‘Sleepy Hollow’ are casting talent for the second season filming in Wilmington, North Carolina.

The supernatural show, which first aired their season finale in January, centers on a resurrected Icahbod Crane as he attempts to save mankind from the end of the world and the deadly Headless Horseman.

Executive producer Mark Goffman commented on season two. “It’s a season about war, it’s a season about redemption. What do you do when your son becomes the Horseman of War in the apocalypse? Ichabod is going to have to contemplate assuming he gets out of the pine box he’s in. [THR]“

Producers hinted that there will be new villains coming in to Sleepy Hollow for Ichabod and Co. to worry about. Though they were coy, they shared some details as to who will be joining the war. “War doesn’t work by itself,” co-creator/executive producer Roberto Orci teased. “There are a lot of amazing foot soldiers coming, familiar and also original.”

‘Terminator: Genesis’ Casting Call and Filming to Start Later this Month

‘Terminator: Genesis’ is set to begin filming in New Orleans on April 21 and casting directors are looking for extras.

According to OLV, there was recently a casting call looking “physically fit/athletic people (18-50 years) and “no fresh hair cuts and men to have facial hair” for Terminator 5. Those that fit the criteria can send their info to [email protected]. 

The Paramount film, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Emilia Clarke, will shoot in Louisiana through August 1 when the shoot may move to San Francisco.

Terminator: Genesis is being directed by Alan Taylor, And Emilia Clarke and Jason Clarke have signed up to play Sarah and John Connor. Arnold Schwarzenegger will also be returning as the Terminator.

Paul Walker’s Brothers to Help Finish ‘Fast and Furious 7’ Scenes

Paul Walker’s brothers help finish ‘Fast & Furious 7’ action scenes.

Paul Walker’s brothers are expected to help “fill in small gaps” in “Fast & Furious 7” action scenes that were not finished before the actor’s death, producers said Tuesday.

Paul Walker died in a fiery car crash during Thanksgiving break in filming last November, forcing to halt production.

“We had to take time to grieve Paul, the brother we love and lost, and to figure out if we should move on with our film,” producers wrote to fans in a Facebook post Tuesday.

Walker’s dramatic scenes were completed before his death but some action sequences were unfinished, they said.

“We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our ‘Fast’ family,” the post said. “Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us, too.”

The was to be released this summer, but Universal decided to push it back to April 10, 2015.

‘Fast and Furious 7’ to Film Several Scenes in Los Angeles

Filming on Fast and Furious 7 maybe filming in the United Arab Emirates right but it looks like production are taking their talents to Los Angeles.

According to OLV, there are several filming permits in Los Angeles that state that Fast and Furious 7 will be shoot from April 22nd to the 28th.

Filming is expected to include “exterior semi-automatic full load gunfire and simulated bullet effects, explosions, drive ups and drive aways, street activity, and high speed precision driving.”

Ready for Jurassic Park 4? ‘Jurassic World’ Open Casting Call

Did you miss the first open casting call for Jurassic Park 4? Well you are in luck.

Casting directors and producers are holding another open casting call for the upcoming feature film.

Producers for ‘Jurassic World’ are looking for men, women, children and families ages 5 to 85 who are comfortable being on a movie.

“Jurassic World” is currently filming in Hawaii and production will be heading to New Orleans shortly. The production is currently using the title of “Ebb Tide” and is looking for general background extras. Families are welcome to apply together.

Casting directors are also looking for men and women who are in the military. All ethnicities are welcomed and are encouraged to apply and attend the casting call. There will be no fees are charges for attending or participating in the casting call.

Casting director’s for FX new television series ‘How and Why’ Starring Michael Cera is now casting kids in Wilmington, North Carolina.

The comedy’s initial description reads, “The story of a man who can explain how and why a nuclear reactor works, but is clueless about life.” The pilot was written and directed by famed screenwriter Charlie Kaufman, who won two Academy Awards for “Being John Malkovich” and “Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.” Kaufman will executive produce with Anthony Bregman, who also collaborated with him on “Eternal Sunshine.”

AMC ‘Mad Men’ Season 7 Premiere Has Lowest Ratings in 6 Years

Rough start for AMC’s ‘Mad Men’ 

The end is near for Mad Men and last night the series had one of their lowest season premiere.

The return of AMC’s hit series drew on average 2.3 million viewers. The highly promoted one hour debut was down about a third of their total viewers from the 3.4 million viewers who watched the Season 6 premiere.

According to Deadline ratings took a quick downward turn in demographics:

 In terms of the key demos, last night’s Season 7 debut pulled in 1.1 million viewers among Adults 25-54 and 1 million among the 18-49s. While one of the most DVR’d shows on TV and certain to see a rise when the digital numbers start coming in, last night’s premiere was a dip from the 1.4 million viewers among adults 18-49 and 1.7 million viewers among adults 25-54 that Season 6′s premiere had.

Even though this is the last season of AMC’s Mad Men, you would assume the series would go out with a bang.

Women and Minority Writers See Gains in TV but Lag Behind in Film – WGA Diversity Report

The WGA West Hollywood Writers Report has reported gains for minority and women TV writers but a decrease in employment in films.

The full study is titled “Turning Missed Opportunities into Realized Ones” is a a series of semi-annual reports commissioned by the Writers Guild of America that is expected to be published in June.

First reported by Deadline, a summary was released today and here are the key changes that have occurred for writers in the TV and Film industry:

· Women remained underrepresented by a factor of nearly 2-to-1 among TV writers in 2012, claiming 27% of sector employment, and they earned about 92 cents for every dollar earned by white males in 2012 — up slightly from 91 cents in 2009. Women screenwriters accounted for 15% of sector employment (down from 17% in 2009) , and they earned 77 cents for every dollar earned by white male film writers in 2012, down from 82 cents in 2009.

· Minority TV writers posted an increase in employment share (from 10% in 2009 to 11% in 2012), also closing the earnings gap “a bit.” Data also show that minorities watch a disproportionate share of television and theatrical films, while increases in their consumer spending outpace the rest of the nation. On the film side, the minority share of film employment was steady at 5% compared by 2009.

· Older writers — especially ages 41-50 — claimed the largest share of employment in TV and film, as well as the highest earnings in each sector. The relative status of older writers tends to decline “rather rapidly” beyond 60.

As time passes you would expect more progressive attitudes towards minorities and women. But, it is tough to learn that women were closer to reaching equal compensation in the workplace 5 years ago in comparison to today.

‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ is Wes Anderson’s Highest Grossing Movie Ever

Wes Anderson’s latest feature films is the biggest movie for the director to date.

“The Grand Budapest Hotel” is the first feature film for Wes Anderson to make $100 million dollars at the global box office.

“Grand Budapest” has earned $39 million in North America, making it third on Wes Anderons’s list of feature films behind “The Royal Tenebaums” and “Moonrise Kingdom.”

“The Grand Budapest hotel is still open in over a thousand movie locations in the United States and Canda meaning that 100 million dollar earnings will continue to grow.

Also to note, “The Grand Budapest Hotel” became the highest grossing opening weekend for a limited release in history. Its $202,792-per-screen average topped the previous record holder, Paul Thomas Anderson’s “The Master.”
