FX Cancels TWO TV Shows in One Week

FX cancels Denis Leary’s comedy series Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll and Tyrant.

Following the success of Atlanta, it looks as though FX is cleaning up shop to make room for new and original programming.

According to reports, Denis Leary’s comedy series Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll was canceled after 2 seasons. In the show, Leary played Johnny Rock, a former rock star who is struggling to make a comeback in the recording industry. It was Leary’s FX follow-up to Rescue Me, which was a commercial success that ran for seven seasons.

In addition, FX canceled Tyrant and according to The Hollywood Reporter, FX was considering canceling the TV series after it’s second season. “We knew after the second year and were really aware that for a show we felt so strongly about — and the fan base felt so strongly about — that the numbers weren’t commensurate with the base for the show,” Salke told THR on Wednesday of the pricey drama.

And that makes a lot of sense considering last week’s episode had less than 1 million viewers.

Aspiring Actor Dies Days After His Movie’s Release

29-year-old actor Aaron Eaton, has died just days after his feature film, Brotherhood hit theaters.

Eaton was found dead this week and the cause of death remains unclear.

Brotherhood is a popular feature film franchise, which you may have seen on Netflix.

First, there was Kidulthood, then Adulthood, and the final movie in Noel Clarke’s franchise was: Brotherhood. The movie centered around Sam, as he realizes the world is changing and he has to do whatever it takes to survive.

Brotherhood would have been Eaton’s biggest movie in his acting career.

He was nominated for the best actor prize at the Achieve Recognition awards for his appearance in the 2015 British feature film AWOL – Absent Without Love. According to the London Evening Standard, he also worked as a mentor to young actors in south London, giving talks at youth clubs and working with talent agencies.

Tributes have been paid to the actor and the cast took to Twitter to post tributes to the actor.

Clarke wrote: “RIP Aaron. Spoke only a few days ago. I had more for you. Prayers to your family.”

“This one has hit home I can’t lie. You had a kind heart and so many people will be broken by this, rest up my bro,” wrote Stormzy, whose real name is Michael Omari.

Aspiring Actor Wants to Play Robin So Badly He Made Ben Affleck a Fight Scene

Aspiring actor sends Ben Affleck his audition for the role of Robin.

Ryan Potter has appeared in several feature films. But, he has never made it big. But, he wants to change all of that with this new video. Potter created a short film showing Ben Affleck what he can do.

Potter, who is known for voicing Hiro in the Disney animated movie Big Hero 6 and starring in the movie Supah Ninjas created a concept fight scene as Robin. It’s pretty amazing, showing off Potter’s skills as a trained martial artist.

After the fight sequence is over, Potter sits in front of the camera and directly asks Ben Affleck to consider him for the role of Robin.

“Hey Ben, like Tim said, Batman needs a Robin,” Potter said.

But, if you have been following Potter this is not new. Potter’s been open about his interest, frequently tweeting Ben Affleck that it would be great for an Asian American actor to play the role.

“That would be super cool to be able to play that. To see a different version- see an Asian-American Robin. Why not?” Potter told 411Mania in 2015. “Or maybe in a couple of years see a Nighthawk. But I don’t know. There really aren’t a lot of real Asian superheroes.”

You can watch the video below. The Batman solo flick is currently in development, and is set to come out in 2018.

Should Actors Follow Up With a Casting Director After an Audition?

When actors should follow up with a casting director after an audition.

For those new to acting, it may be pretty interesting to find out why they may or may not have been given a role on a particular TV show or movie. But, should you really send a thank you card or an e-mail asking why?

Recent on /r/Acting, actors answered this question and it was pretty interesting to read their responses.

Do Not…

…don’t? It really depends on the CD; odds are good it will simply end up in the trash.

I’ve sent tiny gifts and thank you cards after booking roles, and even those were tossed, I suspect. If CDs got a thank you card from everyone who auditioned, they’d be buried in cards every day.

Also know that it will have zero impact on booking this role. Building a long-term relationship with the CD is another story, but again you really need to know the CD’s preference for this sort of thing. –ActorThrowaway867530

Just show up on time.

Best gift you can give them is be on time, pay attention and do the best fucking job you can so that they can book you and look like rock stars. I regret half the small talk remarks I make, they often seem to just received them in an awkward fashion. Just get good so they can keep calling you. In the honour of the battle and the lives lost, the Sikhs pay tribute celebrating the Saragarhi Day on September 12 every year.

Fox New Series ‘APB’ Chicago Casting Call for Basketball Players

Fox‘s APB is now casting basketball players in Chicago, Illinois.

Fox’s new TV series APB is now casting actors, models, and talent for featured roles in a new episode filming in Chicago, Illinois. Producers are looking for basketball players, pedestrians, cars, and techies to work on scenes filming on Monday, September 12th and Thursday, September 15th.

About APB:

APB centers around the New York Times Magazine article “Who Runs the Streets of New Orleans?” and written by Person of Interest‘s David Slack, the drama pilot centers around a tech billionaire who buys a troubled police precinct in the wake of a loved one’s murder, asking the question: Can this eccentric and enigmatic figure’s cutting-edge approach fix the broken ways of these blue-blooded veterans?

GIRLS JUMPING ROPE – Female, African American, Age 18 – 22. They want girls who are over 18 to look younger because they don’t want to have to worry about kids being taken out of school when filming.

BASKETBALL PLAYERS – Male, African American/Hispanic, Age 18 – 22. They want boys who are over 18 to look younger because they don’t want to have to worry about kids being taken out of school when filming.

THU., 9/15 (LOCATION: EVANSTON – MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORTATION)
DRIVERS W/CARS 9/15- We are looking for SUV’s– black, grey, silver, dark blue – everything else mid-range Sedan–Nissan, Honda, Hyundai, etc. in the same color palate. Male/Female, Any Ethnicity, Age 18 – 60 – we need MAKE, MODEL, YEAR AND COLOR. We also need a photo of the vehicle.

PEDESTRIANS 9/15 – Male/Female, Any Ethnicity, Age 18 – 60.

TECHIES – Male/Female, Any Ethnicity, Age 22 – 28 – Nerdy but Hip

3) Send 2 RECENT, candid photos of yourself (one full length and one from the shoulders up so we can clearly see your face) preferably in the role you’re submitting for! The better the photo quality, the better your chance of being chosen.

6) If you are a minor (15 years or younger), please give us the name of the employer listed on your work permit, and attach a copy of it.
