A national sports retailer is now casting athletes and teens in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming ONE day between October 14th -16th in the Pittsburgh area. Pay is up to $700/day.

Producers are seeking the following types:

Male and Female Teens Age 14-16
Men and Women 19-45 years old with a lot of experience in one or more in following types of workouts:
- Training:
  - Kick-Boxing w/MMA Gloves
  - Standing Torso or Heavy Bag hanging
- Strength :
  - Can use a Bench Press with good form, Curl bars
  - Power Rack – Squats/ Bench experience with good form

Oprah Winfrey Network Series ‘Delilah’ Open Casting Call

Oprah Winfrey Network‘s Delilah is now casting and hiring actors in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming in Charlotte, North Carolina this October 2020 through January 2021. According to the Charlotte Observer, the new series is Delilah.

Producers are seeking the following types:

About Delilah:

Delilah is a new TV series from Warner Bros. Television for Winfrey’s OWN network. The new series centers around a headstrong, highly principled lawyer in Charlotte who left a challenging law firm to raise her children. Filming is planned in Charlotte and surrounding areas. It’s eligible for a film grant rebate up to $5.4 million. The series from Craig Wright will star Maahra Hill in the leading role, and is set to air next year. Oprah Winfrey also is an executive producer, and native Charles Randolph-Wright.

In a Warner Bros. press release, the show’s plot is described as follows: “Maahra Hill (“Black-ish,” “How to Get Away With Murder”) stars as Delilah Connolly, a headstrong, highly principled lawyer living in Charlotte, North Carolina. Delilah’s doing her best to raise two kids alone and keep her ties to family, friends and faith strong, all the while ceaselessly seeking justice for those who need it most, in a time when the rich and powerful of Charlotte and beyond will do anything to stop her. Also joining the cast are Jill Marie Jones (“Girlfriends”) as Tamara Grayson, Delilah’s confidante and best friend; Susan Heyward (“Orange is the New Black”), who portrays Demetria Barnes, Delilah’s newly hired, fearless, and ambitious associate; and Ozioma Akagha (Marvel’s “Runaways”), who plays Delilah’s unfailingly sunny secretary, Harper Conant.”

Ben Affleck is Willingly to Return As Batman If He Has Creative Control (Report)

If Ben Affleck gets full creative control over a new Batman movie, the actor is reportedly willing to return.

Ben Affleck may be returning to the DCEU’s as Batman in the upcoming The Flash movie, but new rumors circulate that Affleck may be returning for more than just a cameo appearance.

Before his return was made official, there were reports that Warner Bros.’ parent company AT&T was pushing Hollywood to get the Academy Award winner back on board for more Batman movies. But Warner Bros. may have an uphill battle as the actor ultimately retired from the role.

While The Flash could be a single feature film deal, according to reports, Affleck is not entirely against the idea of finally making a standalone Batman movie. Still, he wants creative control over the film if he does. We Got This Covered reports, “the current pitch is for a prequel of sorts that takes place before Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, freeing it from the shackles of continuity. And it’d most likely be made for HBO Max.”

It will be hard to say if the movie will come to fruition. But, it is important to note, Affleck was initially hired to direct, co-write, executive produce in The Batman, which is not typical for a major superhero franchise.

In relevant news, filming for The Batman resumed in September after Robert Pattinson was cleared of Coronavirus COVID-19.

After Robert Pattinson reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, Variety reports the actor can return to the movie’s U.K. set. “Following a hiatus for COVID 19 quarantine precautions, filming has now resumed on The Batman in the U.K.,” a Warner Bros. spokesperson confirmed to the outlet, without mentioning the leading actor by name. Production shut down on September 3 after Vanity Fair broke the news of Robert Pattinson’s diagnosis, starting the 14-day quarantine time required by the COVID-19 safety requirements.

Scarface Remake is Reportedly Considering Casting Michael B. Jordan for Lead Role

Michael B. Jordan is reportedly being considered for the lead role in the Scarface remake.

Universal has been working on a remake of Scarface for nearly a decade. David Ayer was hired to write the script in 2011. Then, over the years several filmmakers were attached to the project including Harry Potter’s David Yates and The Equalizer’s Antoine Fuqua. Ayer was attached to direct the movie at one point before that movie version was later abandoned.

In 2018, the Coen brothers were working on the latest draft, and in March 2020, Luca Guadagnino was attached to direct. The Call By Your Name discussed the project in several recent interviews, but it was never clear if the Coens were still writing or Fuqua’s casting choice of Diego Luna was still the plan.

According to reports, Universal is considering Michael B. Jordan for the lead role, which will be a reboot of the Al Pacino version of Tony Montana. Both Brian De Palma’s 1983 classic and Howard Hawks’ 1932 version were modern parables on the American Dream, and Guadagnino admitted he wants the latest version to be a modern version of the movie.

In an interview with Collider, Guadagnino explained his vision for Scarface, “People claim that I do only remakes, but the truth of the matter is cinema has been remaking itself throughout its existence. It’s not because it’s a lazy way of not being able to find original stories. It’s always about looking at what certain stories say about our times. The first Scarface from Howard Hawks was all about the prohibition era. Fifty years later, Oliver Stone and Brian De Palma make their version, which is so different from the Hawks film. Both can stand on the shelf as two wonderful pieces of sculpture. Hopefully ours, forty-plus years later, will be another worthy reflection on a character who is a paradigm for our own compulsions for excess and ambition. I think my version will be very timely.”

Michael B. Jordan is a surprising casting decision. The 33-year-old actor is one of Hollywood’s biggest and most talented actors in the industry. If he does end up signing up, he could be heavily involved in the creative process.

In recent news, Marvel is reportedly working on a Killmonger Black Panther spinoff. According to reports, Marvel Studios is planning on doing more villain movies, and one idea being discussed right now traces the journey of Erik Stevens from a grieving young man to a supervillain. The plan is to do a movie, but there is a possibility the storyline can become a Disney+ show instead.

When asked to comment on his acting career, which includes requesting for more episodes for his character in his first Breaking Bad season because he felt the character deserved a better storyline, Esposito reflects on his early acting career when he wasn’t well compensated for his acting. He explains:

“Well, it’s a difficult one for an actor who comes from the theater. Who virtually rode my three-speed Raleigh down to the Atlantic Theater Company every single day to go and do a play, avoiding the subway, eating rice and beans because I was macrobiotic at the time. I was wearing used clothing because I couldn’t afford to have a whole full new wardrobe. It taught me that the one important thing is the work I do, and that no price can be put on that. If it is as important to me to fulfill my obligation in preparing a character, then that is the creative work that I do, and it’s the gift that I’ve been given. So I look at it that way. So, is there any price that can be put on that? Is there any price that can be put on the moving feeling I have after doing a play and having someone come backstage and be in tears because they were so moved by my performance? There’s no price that can be put on that. However, I do understand the nature of suffering for my art, and I do understand how much actors embrace that. We have to suffer to be able to do what we love, but I’m in a position in my life now where I feel like the reward is that I can walk away if I don’t feel like the offer is commensurate with where I’m at right now in my life and career.”

Esposito also commented on his working relationship with his Breaking Bad co-star, Jonathan Banks. He considered the two of them come from very two different acting approaches.

“We never vow to come together or to be apart. We never make that decision. We get in the corner together when we have a lot of words to say, and we just do the words, so we can at least know where we’re going. But we don’t really have any clue of, emotionally, where we’ll be left at the end of the scene, which is always exciting to have that feeling with another actor. And I absolutely love it. And so, we’ve created a safe space for our communication on- and offscreen. And it’s good. It’s a really good place to be because we’re trying, more than anything, to listen. And when I listen to him, I hear Mike. As soon as he steps on set, I see Mike. I see this beaten-down guy who’s lost. “

In the end, he praises Banks for his working relationship. “I adore working with him and never know what to expect, but I am always attentive. And my intention is to go along for the ride, so we’ve had some incredible moments together.”

Tyler Perry Delivers Powerful Personal Story as He Receives Governors Award at 2020 Emmys

Tyler Perry was the recipient of a special honor at the 2020 Emmy Awards.

During Sunday’s virtual ceremony hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the entertainment mogul was given this year’s Governor’s Award. Perry, 51, was chosen by the Television Academy’s Board of Governors for his achievements in television and his commitment to offering opportunities to marginalized communities through the Perry Foundation and other philanthropic programs.

Oprah Winfrey and Chris Rock presented the award to Perry.

“This is amazing. I didn’t expect to feel this way,” he said.

“When I was about 19 years old, I left home and my grandmother, she gave me a quilt that she had made,” he said. “And this quilt was something I didn’t really care for. It had all these different colors and these different patches in it. And I was quite embarrassed by it. I had no value in it at all.”

But several years later, Perry was walking by an antique store and saw a similar quit. He recalled how the salesperson told him the story of the quit, which came from a freed slave woman.

“I became so embarrassed,” he said. “Here I was, a person who prides myself on celebrating our heritage, our culture, and I didn’t even recognize the value in my grandmother’s quilt. I dismissed her work and her story because it didn’t look like what I thought it should. Now, whether we know it or not, we are all sewing our own quilts with our thoughts, our behaviors, our experiences, and our memories.”

He added, “I stand here tonight to say thank you to all of the people who are celebrating and know the value of every patch, and every story, and every color that makes up this quilt that is our business, this quilt that is our lives, this quilt that is America.”

“Because in my grandmother’s quilt, there are no patches that represented Black people on television,” he said. “But in my quilt, her grandson is being celebrated by the Television Academy. I thank you for this. God bless you.”

Tyler Perry is a self-made entertainer and is behind 22 feature films, over 20 stage plays, 13 television shows, several bestselling books and the massive Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tyler Perry launched his first sitcom, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, 2007. With over 250 episodes, the show aired more episodes than any other series with a predominately Black cast. He has since written and directed and produced over 1,2000 episodes of TV and his movies have made more than $1 billion in the U.S. box office.

Perry opened his first studio in Atlanta in 2008, the operations have grown to over 330 acres of land in Georgia. Recently, he launched a new initiative with “Camp Quarantine”, which allows him to film new seasons of his BET and BET+ shows during the pandemic.

The Governors Award debuted in 1978 and honors people or organizations in the TV arts and sciences whose achievement is so exceptional and universal in nature that it goes beyond the scope of annual Emmy Awards recognition. Previous recipients include Star Trek; American Idol; William S. Paley; Hallmark Cards Inc.; Masterpiece Theater; Comic Relief; and ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and A+E Networks.

In relevant news, the 72nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards was virtually hosted by Jimmy Kimmel for the first time ever due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic. This year’s big winners include Euphoria star Zendaya, who became the youngest lead actress drama winner for her role as Rue. Meanwhile, Watchmen’s Regina King won their fourth Emmy each.
