[New Orleans]Casting Directors are still casting supporting roles for the upcoming film Wild Oats Dimension films recently bought the rights to the road-trip comedy Wild Oats featuring Academy Award winner Shirley MacLaine, Academy Award nominee Jacki Weaver, Academy Award winner Alan Arkin, and the very entertaining Jack Black.

Wild Oats is directed by Howard Deutch who directed such products as Pretty in Pink and Some Kind of Wonderful, and recently starting working with HBO directing such shows as Big Love and Hung. Claudia Meyers and Gary Kanew penned the script which is described a cute comedy that is a mix between sideways and Thelma and Louise.

Wild Oats tells the story of a retired widow who hits the jackpot when she recieves a Social Security check and mistakenly made out for $900,000 instead of $900. She and her best friend then travel to Las Vegas, to become fugitives from justice.

“Howard Deutch has directed some great classics and the cast is extraordinary,” said Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company. “This is a clever and offbeat comedy that is sure to entertain.”

“I consider it a great opportunity and honor to work with this amazing cast, which has created some of the greatest work in recent memory,” said Deutch

Wild Oats is produced by Blythe Frank, Agathe David Weill and Alexander Tabrizi, with Michael Mailer and Mike Dolan as executive producers. The deal was negotiated for Dimension Films by Andrew Kramer, President, Business and Legal Affairs; and by Jack Gilardi of ICM. Gilardi repped the producers as well as Jackie Eckhouse and Bethany Haynes of Sloss Law. Shirley MacLaine, Jacki Weaver, Alan Arkin, and Howie Deutch are all represented by ICM.

[Los Angeles]Liam Hemsworth is back! He has been cast as the lead in Relativity Media’s romantic drama, Timeless, where Salt director Bill Kelly wrote the screenplay.

Timeless features a man’s effort to develop a scientific breakthrough that will allow him to go back in time to during the point his wife dies.

Sunil Perkash and Relativity Media CEO Ryan Kavanaugh are producing this film, and Relativity Media’s president Tucker Tooley has announced that he will executive produce this film. So many film makers are arguing that this will be a movie of epic proportions due to the level of experience of the production team.

Liam Hemsworth will be seen in the next Hunger Games in March and The Expendables 2 movie that appeared in August.

[Los Angeles]2012 has become Kevin Hart’s breakout year. He is currently on board to star in the remake of 1986 film, “About Last Night”. The stand up comic turned film and TV actor, whoa ppeared in Think Like a Man will play the role that was originally portrayed by Jim Belushi.

Screen Gems is creating the remake of the 1986 Demi Moore film. “About Last Night” is based on David Mamet’s play “Sexual Perversity in Chicago”. Steve Pink, has currently signed up to direct this film, who is known for such movies as Bad Santa 2, The Toxic Avenger, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

About Last Night is a comedy drama bout two men, Danny and Bernie who are two single men who live in Chicago. When Danny meets Debbie at a local bar, the two start a relationship from a one night stand. The film follows the couple for their first year in their relationship.

About Last Night will feature Kevin hart, Michael Ealy, Regina Hall, and Joy Bryant. But they are still casting various roles for this upcoming film. So this is a great opportunity for all aspiring actors.

Pastor Simon Jackson has given his heart and soul to his church, Zion Hill, but has difficulty shepherding his own family: daughter Rachel, a single mom; son David, who owes $5,000 to drug dealers; and son Jonathan, who appears to be perfect but is struggling just as hard as his siblings to find true direction.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

[JORDAN CLARK] – Jordan is a bright African American 6 year old boy who is Rachel and Bobby’s son, conceived when they were young teenagers. He loves to dart into the pulpit and sing impromptu solos in church. He is bounced between guardians, easily bribed and distracted by gifts from Shante (Bobby’s girlfriend) and wishes his real parents would get back together and take him to Disneyland. MUST BE ABLE TO SING. MUST BE HIRED AS A COMPLETE LOCAL, IT’S GREAT IF HE SOUNDS SOUTHERN BUT IT’S NOT REQUIRED. He has about 7 lines. Must prepare a church song for the audition. The scripted age of Jordan is 6 so if you have a child that is older BUT CAN PLAY 6, then please submit them. If a kid in this age range that may not have a huge amount of acting experience but can sing, submit them.

[DEACON JACOBS] – The longtime deacon at Zion Hill Church, he’s a stern, holier-than-thou man 45 – 55 who still nurses a grudge against Rev. Jackson. Jacobs was up for Jackson’s job many years ago, and the fact that Jackson was promoted over his head still rankles him. Now, with so many crises erupting in Rev. Jackson’s family, Jacobs is angling to get Jackson removed from his pulpit permanently. However, when the full congregation votes on the issue, Jacobs learns just how deeply beloved his old rival actually is.

[TAWNY] – In her 30’s, she’s an African American EXOTIC DANCER (NO DANCING AND NO SKIMPY CLOTHES IN THIS FILM) some ten years older than her boyfriend David. Definitely from the wrong side of the tracks, Tawny has never been accepted by David’s family – but as the troubled David later points out, she’s a true-blue friend who helped him get clean and has stuck by him through thick and thin. By looking at Tawny, we would not necessarily think she’s a stripper. We may wonder what she does for a living. She’s horrified when David’s gambling debts seem likely to get him killed. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A DANCER FOR THIS ROLE BUT MUST HAVE A NICE BODY AND NICE LEGS. ** We never see Tawny dance, she does not wear skimpy clothes and only one character alludes to her dancing on a pole.

[Arizona] Consider the competition for the best party film series officially scrambled. Warner Brothers have announced that they are preparing a third installment in the “Hangover” series. The billion dollar grossing comedy franchise about three friends whose mis-guided adventures end up resulting in a collective memory loss followed by ridiculous attempts to retrace their previous steps. Do you want to join in on the mayhem, despair and sleuth of bad decisions? Well here is your chance. Casting Directors are holding a two day open call to fill various roles in the upcoming project.

The studio is holding two casting calls for men and women “of all ethnicities” who are 18 and older, according to press materials. The first casting call will be at the Tucson Marriott University Park, 880 E. Second St., from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 14. The other will be held at the Nogales Best Western Hotel, 750 W. Shell Road in Nogales, Arizona from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 15.While it’s not a family film, Aviano said, the shoot might also require some scenes involving 10 to 20 children.Parents are encouraged to bring close-up photos of their kids but not the youngsters themselves.

Warner Brotehrs said that the series stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis will return for their roles as three friends, Phil, Stu and Alan, in “The Hangover Part III,” whi is planned for release on May 24, 2013. Todd Phillips who directed the last two films also announced that he is excited about returning as director.

The original “Hangover” released in 2009, set its characters lose in Vegas and sold well over $467 million dollars in tickets worldwide. While the sequel beat the first movie with a total of $581 million dollars earned globally.

No setting or plot description has been announced for “The Hangover Part III” but Todd Phillips stated that they are going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter in the series. “It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions”

Description:
MEDITERRANEAN, HANDSOME BEAUTY. Height: 5′ – 5’5″ tall. Weight: 95# – 110#. Dark-haired, brunette, woman with long hair (at least shoulder length) who can portray the mother of a determined little girl, CALLIOPE. Exotic dark European/ancient Grecian look is good for this role. Extremely good actor needed for this role who can display a series of emotions. During the scenes, she holds her young daughter’s hand as they both watch her father KRATOS, go off to war. LYSANDRA is proud and solemn, yet nervous about the danger that lies ahead. Exotic dark European/ancient Grecian look is good for this role. CALLIOPE becomes an emotional conduit that draws in KRATOS (warrior) to her heart. Must be a thoughtful and intelligent performer who can RUN fast and for a long time, as if being chased. Must be able to show curiosity, wonder, joy and laughter, as well as being very serious when called on. GOOD ACTOR.

[North Carolina] Casting directors are now casting actors for various positions for the upcoming Revolution series.

Revolution is an upcoming American Science Fiction dramatic TV series that will air on NBC on Mondays. The network recently placed a series order in May 2012 after filming the pilot in Atlanta, Georgia. The series is created by Eric Kripke and is produced by J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk. Iron Man director Jon Favreau directed the pilot episode and the series is set to premiere September 17, 2012.

Casting Directors have not started casting for the movie yet. but everything is on track as former X-Men producer signs on to produce this upcoming film.

Metal Gear Solid is one of the most successful video game franchises of all time and it is still on its way to get a big screen adaptation. Recently, X-Men and Spider man producer Avi Avrad has announced that he has come on board to produce the Metal Gear Solid the movie. The film is slated to describe the story of Solid Snake, a genetically engineered soldier whose mission to infiltrate a munitions factor and destroy a deadly weapon, known as Metal Gear.

It is easy to say the Snake of the video game franchise is more than a cliché mix of Bourne identity and Escape from New York. Avrad stated that he is taking his time to bringing the video game to the big screen in order to ensure the film comes out right. The game itself has had a history of being very cinematic in its execution but the challenge is creating a compelling narrative about a man sneaking around a military base. Casting for this film has not been completed.

‘The Hobbit’ Trilogy Release Dates Now Released

Hobbit fans can now rejoice! Hobbit fans will only have to wait seven months between the second and third installments of Peter Jackson’s Hobbit Trilogy!

Warner Bros. Pictures and MGM Pictures announced last Friday the final in the series will be called “The Hobbit: There and back Again” and released worldwide on July 18, 2014. The second filmed was renamed “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug”.

Here is the scheduled release dates :

— “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,’ Dec. 14, 2012.
— “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.” Dec. 13, 2013.
— “The Hobbit: There and Back Again,” July 18, 2014.

The series of is adapted from J.R.R. Tolkien’s masterpiece “The Hobbit: series will be released in the latest film quality, High Frame Rate 3-D, IMAX, and 2-D.

Psych is an American detective comedy-drama TV series created by Steve Franks and is currently broadcasted on the USA Network. Psych centers on Shawn, young crime consultant for the Santa Barbara Police Department, whose “heightened observational skills” and detective instincts allow him to convince people that he has psychic abilities. The series airs episodes every Wednesdays at 10PM on USA Network. Psych debuted on Friday, July 7, 2006 and currently Psych has been renewed for a seventh season.

Psych also features Dulé Hill, as he plays Burton “Gus” Guster, Shawn’s best friend and business partner. He is also a pharmaceutical salesman. Unlike Shawn he takes his job very seriously and tries to act professionally, but eventually ends up tagging along with Shawn’s jokes and adventures. He is famous for his many aliases and being attracted tall types of females that end up being prime suspects.

Psych averages about 6.1 million viewers and is rated the highest scripted series to premiere on basic cable in 2006 for all demographics, according to the USA Network press release. Psych is also been nominated for 2010 Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Music Composition for a series.

Last Resort is an upcoming American Military drama series created by Shawn Ryan for ABC. Last Resort is produced by Sony Pictures Televisions and will premier on September 27, 2012 and will be broadcasted regularly on Thursdays at 8:00 pm Eastern. The series is about a renegade crew of United States Navy ballistic missile submarine that ends up defying orders to launch a series of nuclear missles towards Pakistan, a decision that will cost the commanding his career. When his replacement also questions the same orders, the vessel is fired upon and the crew are left for dead. After realizing they have been declared enemies of their own country, they set up camp on a Sainte Marine, and declare themselves a sovereign nation with nuclear capability. However, the crew must find a way to prove their innocence and find out who set them up in order for them to come home to America.
