Georgia’s Film Industry is rapidly increasing and a new production company is currently TV Development Producers for various positions in the company.

Georgia Help Wanted Hotline recently posted the following hiring notice on their webpage. If you are interested, follow the directions listed in the hiring notice.

TV DEVELOPMENT PRODUCERS NEEDED

Television production company is seeking relentless self-motivators to join our development team, tracking down great characters and show ideas that we will together turn into pitches for A&E, Discovery, NatGeo, History, TLC and the like.

You will work remotely from home, liaising and collaborating with us regularly by Skype.

Must:

  • Be passionate about unscripted TV and storytelling
  • Have a knack for spotting standout characters
  • Be quick to pick up the phone and make contact
  • Enjoy people and building rapport with all types
  • Have excellent writing and communication skills
  • Be able to travel as necessary
  • Be comfortable using Skype regularly, and
  • Experience in TV development is a big plus

This is a fully paid position.  Hiring will start on a freelance (40 hrs/week) temporary basis.  Our intent is to bring on the best and most reliable people long-term after that.

’50 Shades of Grey’ Feature Film Casts Dakota Johnson and Charilie Hunnam as Lead Roles

The movie will be released on Aug. 1, 2014.

Universal paid $5 million dollars for the movie rights to the best-selling trilogy. But there were a ton of rumors.

Earlier this year, Emma Watson was acclaimed to play the role of Anastatsia, which prompted the Harry Potter star to tweet “who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life.”

Dakota Johnson gained some critical attention for her role in the Fox comedy Ben and Kate last season but the single-camera confection about a single mom who lives with her brother (Nat Faxon) was cancelled because of low ratings.

After her small, scantily-clad part in The Social Network (she went to bed with Sean Parker, aka Justin Timberlake), she went on to appear in The Five Year Engagement and 21 Jump Street. She is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson.

For the last six years, Hunnam has starred as Jax Teller in FX’s hit drama Sons of Anarchy. Earlier this year, he was the lead in the movie Pacific Rim.

Casting directors are now casting talent to work as a photo double on “The Originals” filming in the Georgia Area.

 

The Originals is a spin-off from The Vampire Diaries and set in New Orleans, The Originals centers on the Mikaelson siblings, otherwise known as the world’s original vampires: Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt). It was revealed during the backdoor pilot, aired on April 25, 2013, that recurring character Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is pregnant with Klaus’ child.

 

 Now Klaus must take down his protégé, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who is now in charge of New Orleans, in order to re-take his city, as he originally built New Orleans. Klaus departed from the city after being chased down by his father Mikael, while it was being constructed and Marcel took charge.

 

As Klaus has returned after many years, his ego has provoked him to become the king of the city. “Every King needs an heir” says Klaus, accepting the unborn child. The child is a first to be born to a hybrid (part vampire, part werewolf) and a werewolf (Hayley).

ABC Family ‘Ravenswood’ Casting Call for Male Stand-In Filming in New Orleans

RPM CASTING announced that producers for ABC Family’s Ravenswood is now accepting resumes for various extra positions. Filming will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Ravenswood is an American teen drama mystery-thriller television series created by I. Marlene King, Oliver Goldstick andJoseph Dougherty. A spin-off of Pretty Little Liars, ABC Family green lit the series on March 26, 2013. It will premiere in late October 2013, following the Pretty Little Liars Halloween episode.

Set in the fictional town of Ravenswood, Pennsylvania, the series will follow five strangers whose lives become intertwined by a deadly curse that has plagued their town for generations.

Sande Alessi Casting is currently seeking female stand-ins to work on the new MTV pilot ‘Faking It’.

Faking It (working title) hails from Carter Covington(Greek, Hart of Dixie) and revolves around two best friends who will do almost anything to fit in and be popular in high school, including pretending to be something they’re not (The Hollywood Reporter).

The series will feature Gregg Sulkin and Bailey Buntain, who are leaving Disney behind for MTV.

Gregg will play Liam, a high school artist who is tolerate, cares about the environment and is good with his hands. Nearly every girl would kill to date him but none have understood him — until Karma (Stevens) arrives and sees through his art and into his soul.Karma is an upbeat and optimistic high school sophomore who is sick of spending her Friday nights watching Netflix with her best friend Amy. Convinced they’re in danger of falling off the social ladder, Karma is thrilled when she and Amy are invited to the hottest party of the year — especially because Liam will be there (Just Jared Jr).

MTV producers remarked that the series was partially inspired by his own revelations volunteering at a support hotline for troubled LGBT youth.

The series is created by Dana Min Goodman & Julia Wolov.

Disney Casting Directors are looking for new and young talent to audition for upcoming Disney TV series and Disney moves featured on the Disney Channel or Disney XD. This looks like a great opportunity for aspiring child actors, singers, and dancers.

The Huffington Post, recently talked about this upcoming casting call as they are looking for people of various ethnicities and races. “While our casting search is for everyone, this ‘grass roots’ search is a great opportunity for us to see many young actors [and] actresses whose talent, by circumstances or geography, hasn’t yet been evaluated by a professional casting director.”

What to prepare: Please present a one minute monologue of your choice (classical or contemporary) and an additional one minute of any material you’d like to show us (dance, music, comedy, other special skills or a contrasting monologue). You have two minutes to show us what you’re about as a performer!

HBO’s TV Pilot “Bashir and Diallo” is Now Filming and Casting in the Atlanta Area

Casting directors are now casting talent to work on the upcoming TV Pilot “Bashir and Diallo” filming in Atlanta, Georgia.

CL Casting (The Hunger Games) recently announced on their Facebook Page that they will be team handling the extras casting for the upcoming project.

According to Deadline, HBO has given the upcoming TV pilot a green light to a half hour comedy pilot from the former Late Night with Jimmy Fallon writers and performers Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin.

“Bashir and Diallo” was written by the team and centers on two 30-year-old reporters, as they try to make it big in the growing black mecca of contemporary Atlanta, also known as as the New South.

Among the skits and bits written for Jimmey Fallon,  Riddle and Salahuddin wrote while on the show was Slow Jam The News With Barack Obama. Riddle and Salahuddin, who met while attending Harvard together, are the latest writers/performers from one of Michaels’ late-night shows to get a primetime project backed by him. This also marks Michaels’ second comedy pilot at HBO. He also has People In New Jersey.

In the pilot episode, Klaus returns to the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans, a town he helped build centuries ago, and is reunited with his diabolical former protégé Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). Elijah, intent on helping his self-destructive brother find redemption, must side with Marcel’s enemies in order to keep Klaus in line.

STAR K9 is currently looking for new animal talent from the Atlanta area. Do you have a STAR living with you?  If so, they would love to hear from you.  They will PAY YOU MONEY only if your animal is used in one of their projects.

It’s a win-win – you get money and your animal gets to be a star!

DOGS must have the following:

  • Up-to-date on all vaccinations and be in excellent health
  • Friendly, outgoing and confident
  • Must do basic obedience commands OFF-LEASH, away from home and in distracting situations. 
  • Dogs should be comfortable in strange environments that include bright lights, loud noises, large groups of people, moving vehicles, slippery floors, confined areas, etc. 
  • Animals that show aggression (unless trained for on cue) will not be accepted.  

Tricks are not required but are considered a bonus and certain behaviors such as holding an object (while staying) on command, speaking, going to a mark and going with talent on command will all increase your chances of your dog being selected.

CATS must have the following:

  • Be in excellent health
  • Friendly and people oriented
  • Be comfortable away from home and in distracting environments that include cameras, bright lights, loud noises, strangers, slippery floors, confined areas, etc.
  • They do not necessarily have to do commands but must not be spooked around strange people, cameras and equipment.

Any training will GREATLY increases your chances of getting work.  If you have a food motivated cat and can train it to come to a buzzer/clicker or teach it to sit and stay in one spot…we want you!

OTHERS ANIMALS.  If you have a talented or unusual animal that is not a cat or dog we would love to hear from you.  This includes any type of animal – farm animals, reptiles, bugs, rodents, exotic, etc.
