1940s Movie Theater Goers Casting Call for Horror Feature Film

Job Description

A paid background acting opportunity is now available for performers to portray 1940s movie theater goers in a horror feature film filming in Fulton County, New York. Production is seeking local talent who can authentically fit a period setting and help bring vintage theater scenes to life. Filming and costume fittings will take place in and around Schenectady, NY.

Job Responsibilities

  • Portray a 1940s movie theater patron in background scenes.
  • Follow direction from the production team throughout filming.
  • Wear period costumes provided by production.
  • Help create an authentic 1940s theater atmosphere on set.
  • Work comfortably around atmospheric smoke effects.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work as a local hire in Fulton County and the surrounding Schenectady, NY area.
  • Must be comfortable working around atmospheric smoke.
  • Must not have wool allergies.
  • Must be willing to maintain a clean-shaven appearance and period-appropriate hairstyle if required.
  • Must be able to present valid identification for employment eligibility.

Compensation

  • SAG-AFTRA: $231 for 8 hours.
  • Non-SAG: $187 for 10 hours.

Job Description

A new stage production, Rooftop Revolution, is casting actors for its upcoming performance at the Lambeth Fringe Festival in London. The production is seeking passionate performers with strong emotional range, adaptability, and an interest in ensemble-driven theater. Actors of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform in the stage production Rooftop Revolution.
  • Attend scheduled rehearsals and festival performances.
  • Collaborate with the director and cast throughout the production.
  • Bring authenticity, emotional depth, and adaptability to the role.
  • Participate in an ensemble-focused rehearsal process.

Requirements

  • The Artist: Male, early 30s, all ethnicities.
  • The Unemployed Man: Male, ages 27–29, all ethnicities.
  • The Schoolgirl: Female, ages 17–18, all ethnicities.
  • Strong emotional honesty and vulnerability.
  • Good comedic timing and adaptability.
  • Interest in devised, physical, or ensemble-based theater.
  • Submit a recent headshot.
  • Include a CV, portfolio, or showreel if available.
  • Submit a self-tape introducing yourself and showcasing your acting (maximum 2 minutes).

Compensation

  • Paid acting opportunity.
  • Flat fee of £150 for all roles.
