Runner – College Sports Broadcast Production

Job Description

A live college football production at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is seeking a proactive Runner to help the broadcast crew stay prepared and on schedule. In this hands-on role, you will support the flow of production by taking care of essential errands, moving materials between locations, assisting broadcast personnel, and stepping in wherever operational help is needed. Success in this position comes from being punctual, resourceful, and ready to shift priorities as the demands of a live sports broadcast evolve. A possible setup day may take place before game day.

Job Responsibilities

  • Carry out local errands and production-related runs in a timely manner.
  • Deliver supplies, documents, and other materials to crew members throughout the venue.
  • Assist with arrival, departure, and logistical needs for announcers and production personnel.
  • Support different broadcast departments with general operational requests.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors regarding assignments and completed tasks.
  • Help resolve routine logistical needs that arise during production.
  • Remain available for new assignments as priorities change throughout the broadcast.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Previous Runner, Production Assistant, sports broadcast, or event production experience is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and familiarity with Tuscaloosa are preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Able to communicate effectively with production crew members.
  • Resourceful and comfortable handling assignments independently.
  • Ability to remain productive in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Basic understanding of live sports production is a plus.

Parabolic Microphone Operator – College Football Event

Job Description

Help capture the intensity and atmosphere of live college football as a Parabolic Microphone Operator in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Working near the field, this production crew member will operate a wired parabolic microphone dish and track the action from the sideline or endline to capture natural game sounds. This opportunity is ideal for someone who understands football, stays focused in a fast-moving environment, and is comfortable remaining on their feet for long periods. Work will take place outdoors in varying weather conditions, with a possible set day before game day.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate a wired parabolic microphone during live college football coverage
  • Capture natural field and game sounds for the production
