Job Description
A health campaign commercial is casting community members and actors from the Sacramento, California area for several featured roles in an upcoming production. Casting directors are looking for real people and performers with authentic personalities to appear in relatable lifestyle scenes that highlight everyday community moments. Selected talent will participate in a short commercial shoot portraying natural interactions in a variety of health-focused storytelling scenes.

Job Responsibilities

• Portray community members in lifestyle scenes for a health campaign commercial

• Participate in everyday activities such as visiting a farmers market, spending time with friends, or interacting in family settings

• Follow direction from the production team to deliver natural on-camera performances

• Help create authentic and relatable moments that reflect real community life

Requirements

• Must be local to the Sacramento, California area

• Open to both actors and real community members

• Farmer role: male, 25–45 years old

• Porch scene role: male, 70–80 years old

• Individual with a visible disability, around 50 years old

• Female, 25–35 years old to portray a patient

• Unhoused father and son duo (real-life pair encouraged)

• Comfortable performing naturally on camera in lifestyle-style scenes

Compensation

• $2,000 for select one-day roles

• $2,000–$2,500 for patient role (1–2 day shoot)

• $5,000 for real father/son duo role

KOVR/KMAX Sacramento is looking for a top-notch, collaborative, and inquisitive Special Projects Photographer/Producer to join our investigative team! The successful candidate must have proven skills and the ability to dig and uncover the truth.  We are looking for a dynamic storyteller who embraces the critical role of investigative journalism in supporting our communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

•    Develop compelling investigative projects
•    Research and develop compelling investigative projects
•    Collaborate with reporters and other team members to bring a vision to all investigative pieces
•    Show creativity in production, including compelling video elements and the use of graphics
•    Collaborate with members of the team to make suggestions to elevate all content
•    Exhibit a strong understanding of journalistic principles and ethics
•    Demonstrate skill in analyzing data, backgrounding individuals, businesses, and topics
•    Display experience in shooting video and crafting other visuals
•    Must be an expert in utilizing Adobe Premiere and Grass Valley editing systems
•    Communicate with team members and others effectively
•    Maintain a strong portfolio of sources

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of major market journalism experience or experience doing investigative work and projects
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, nights, and weekends when necessary
Occasional overnight travel required

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field is preferred

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Work with Director of Brand Strategy and team to conceptualize and execute effective and creative marketing efforts for commercial and station priorities.
•    Create, develop and refine compelling concepts and creative direction for a wide range of short form and longer form video content, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and target audience.
•    Manage the entire video production process, from pre-production (concept development, scripting, music considerations) through production (shooting coordination, clearances) to post-production (editing, visual effects, approvals and final delivery).
•    Tailor content for different platforms, optimizing for engagement and platform-specific requirements (e.g., social media, YouTube, streaming).
•    Write/produce/shoot/edit commercials, promos, and other initiatives as needed.
•    Provide shooting and editing services for station commercial and creative efforts.
•    Maintain a steady flow of content to promote the station marketing initiatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Proven work experience as a writer/producer in the TV-News and/or Entertainment industry.
•    Proficient in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, After Effects, etc.) with an eye for pacing, visual storytelling, and sound design.
•    Minimum 3-5 years hands-on experience in all aspects of video production including shooting, lighting, sound recording and editing, and ability to operate all associated equipment.
•    Understanding of brand marketing and creative technique.
•    An ability to identify target audience preferences and build content to meet them.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
