Job Description

A promotional event is seeking enthusiastic Mascots and Handlers to represent a nationally recognized cereal brand character at a public activation. Team members will engage with attendees through meet-and-greets, photo opportunities, presentations, and promotional activities while maintaining a fun, energetic, and professional presence throughout the event.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals with strong people skills, event experience, and a positive attitude. Experience is preferred but not required.

Job Responsibilities

Mascot Responsibilities

• Perform as a well-known mascot character during the event.
• Interact with attendees through non-verbal communication and gestures.
• Participate in photo opportunities and meet-and-greets.
• Follow all character performance guidelines and costume requirements.
• Maintain character integrity throughout the event.
• Communicate with the event team before and after the activation.

Handler Responsibilities

• Assist and guide the mascot throughout the event.
• Interact with attendees and promote excitement around the character and brand.
• Take event photos and recap images.
• Maintain communication with account executives and event staff.
• Help manage costume logistics and return procedures.
• Provide updates and event documentation as required.

Requirements

Mascot Requirements

• Height between 5’7″ and 6’0″.
• Comfortable wearing a mascot costume for extended periods with scheduled breaks.
• Outgoing personality and strong non-verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow strict character performance guidelines.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to stand for the duration of the event.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs when necessary.

Handler Requirements

• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Friendly, outgoing, and engaging personality.
• Smartphone with reliable internet access, camera functionality, and GPS capability.
• Ability to take and store event photos.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs when necessary.

Compensation Details

• Mascot: $30 per hour.
• Handler: $23 per hour.
• Additional $15 bonus available for assisting with costume return procedures.
