Job Description
A SAG short film is now casting lead, supporting, and day player roles for an upcoming production filming in Lufkin, Texas. Casting directors are seeking talented performers for a grounded Southern drama centered around family tension, grief, and personal conflict following a father’s funeral. The production is looking for actors capable of delivering emotionally layered and naturalistic performances for a variety of character-driven roles.

Job Responsibilities

• Portray emotionally complex characters in a dramatic short film
• Participate in rehearsals, self-tape auditions, and filming dates
• Collaborate closely with the director and production team
• Deliver authentic performances with grounded Southern realism

Requirements

• Seeking male and female actors for lead, supporting, and day player roles
• Roles available for performers from their 20s through 70s
• Comfortable performing dramatic and emotionally intense scenes
• Ability to portray East Texas or Southern character types preferred
• Local hires in or near Lufkin, Texas encouraged to apply
• SAG-AFTRA performers welcome

Compensation

• Lead roles: Up to $249 per day plus 10% agency fee
• Supporting roles: $150 per day plus 10% agency fee
• Day player roles: $150 per day plus 10% agency fee
• SAG-AFTRA Micro Budget Agreement production
• Filming scheduled for July 24–26 in Texas
