Job Description: ESPN is seeking a skilled and attentive Parabolic Microphone Operator to assist with capturing live sound during the Houston vs Oklahoma football game at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, OK. This role is crucial in ensuring that the broadcast captures the authentic sounds of the game, enhancing the viewer experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate a wired parabolic microphone dish to capture the general sounds on the field during the football game.
• Move along the sideline or endline, closely following the action and ensuring the microphone is always directed toward the play.
• Stay focused and attentive to the game, adjusting the microphone position as needed to maintain high-quality audio capture.
• Work in coordination with the broadcast team to ensure the best possible sound is delivered for the live broadcast.
• Be prepared to stand and move for extended periods, adapting to the fast-paced environment of live sports.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions as required by the role.

Requirements:

• Must be physically fit and capable of standing and moving for long periods during the game.
• A basic understanding of football is required to effectively follow and capture the game’s sounds.
• Previous experience operating a parabolic microphone is preferred but not mandatory.
• Comfort with working outdoors in potentially adverse weather conditions.
