Job Description:
Casting is now open for The House Call, a SAG short film written and directed by acclaimed NYC-based artist Eliza Barry Callahan. This powerful, character-driven drama features A-list talent in lead and supporting roles.
Set in Upstate New York in 1986, the film follows a young equine veterinarian called to a mob family’s estate in the middle of the night. As she works to save a prized dressage horse, she finds herself navigating unexpected emotional connections and dangerous tensions. With its rich atmosphere and blend of realism and lyrical storytelling, this project is ideal for actors drawn to emotionally complex, nuanced roles.
Job Responsibilities:

Portray assigned character with authenticity, depth, and subtlety

Attend fittings, rehearsals, and all scheduled shoot dates (1–4 days depending on role)

Collaborate closely with the director, cast, and crew to support the film’s vision

Casting Roles:
[ENZO] – Male, 27, Italian
Thoughtful, self-aware, emotionally frayed son of a mob boss. Nihilistic, philosophical, and resigned to his fate. Unconventionally attractive and deeply introspective.
[ROCCO] – Male, 32, Italian-American
Older brother to Enzo. Hot-tempered and deeply insecure. Craves his father’s approval and masks vulnerability with aggressive bravado. Resents his younger brother.
[RISHI] – Male, Early 60s, South Asian (Born in Alibaug)
Former Rajneeshee, now a sitar workshop leader in Upstate New York. Warm, grounded, wise. Has a large presence and infectious smile.
[CHRIS] – Male, Late 20s, Open Ethnicity
College graduate who stayed in town. Studied anthropology, now teaches Suzuki violin and volunteers with Rishi. Searching for identity and meaning.
[INTERMEDIATE SITAR WORKSHOP MEMBERS] – All Genders, All Ages
A diverse ensemble of 15 individuals from all walks of life, each on a journey of personal exploration. Must be comfortable performing minor, character-based direction.

Job Description
An upcoming feature-length docu-fiction film set in New York City is seeking talent. The story centers on a taxi driver who revisits moments of his life through powerful late-night encounters with a range of passengers. Blending documentary and fictional elements, the film aims to portray deeply authentic and emotionally resonant character interactions.
Producers are looking for confident, naturally curious, and engaging individuals to portray the various passengers. Strong improvisational skills, the ability to sustain meaningful conversations, and ease with unscripted dialogue are essential. This is a passion project, and filming will take place overnight in NYC.

Requirements
We are casting the following non-union roles:

Millennial Woman (20s–30s, Any Ethnicity): Confident, curious, disarming; grows more engaged during her ride.

Young Balkan Man (Early 20s, Balkan): Newly arrived in NYC, reserved, must speak with a Balkan accent.

Older Man (60s–70s, Middle Eastern or Central European): Physically imposing, loud, talkative, politically aware.

Two NYC Hustlers (Late teens–early 20s, Any Ethnicity): Must know each other in real life; street-smart, high-energy, unpredictable duo.
Compensation

Rate: $1,000 total per actor (includes one rehearsal + one overnight shoot)
