Job Description
A new short film is now casting for multiple lead and minor roles. The story follows a young aspiring basketball player and his family as they navigate community, identity, and personal dreams.
This production welcomes Indigenous actors of various ages. Acting experience is not required, but preferred for select roles.
Job Responsibilities

Participate in rehearsals and filming as scheduled.

Portray assigned characters authentically and collaboratively.

Work closely with the director and team to bring the script to life.

Maintain professionalism and adaptability on set.
Roles Available
Lead Roles
-
Nate (11–14): Indigenous, dreamer, sensitive, and an aspiring hooper. (Requires basketball skills)

Jace (11–14): A natural leader—fiercely loyal, competitive, and driven. (Requires basketball skills)

Brian (11–14): Sociable, rebellious, and a confident trash-talker. (Requires basketball skills)

Pop (Early 30s): Indigenous, tough, charming but impulsive; Nate’s father.

Carrie (Early 30s): Indigenous, caring, and level-headed educator; Nate’s mother.
Minor Roles

Mary (Early 30s): Indigenous, jovial, nurturing caretaker; Carrie’s cousin.

Jakob (12–18): Cruel, menacing bully. (Requires basketball skills)

Spencer (12–18): Jakob’s dimwitted younger brother. (Requires basketball skills)
Requirements

Open to Indigenous performers across all age groups.
