Job Description

A narrative short film is seeking an experienced Assistant Director (AD) for a paid, in-person production. This role involves supporting both pre-production and on-set operations to ensure an organized, efficient shoot. The project requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage schedules, communication, and on-set responsibilities in a fast-paced production environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with pre-production tasks including location scouting, scheduling, and coordination

  • Participate in production meetings and virtual check-ins as needed

  • Support production organization and workflow planning

  • Manage on-set Assistant Director duties during filming

  • Help ensure production runs on schedule and efficiently

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Director preferred

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cast and crew

  • Must be available for both pre-production and production phases

  • Must be able to work on location

Compensation Details

  • $150 flat rate for pre-production

  • $150 flat rate for production

  • Free meals provided on all shooting days

Second Assistant Director (2nd AD)

Job Description
A short film production is hiring a Second Assistant Director to help manage schedules, coordinate talent, and support smooth on-set workflow. This role is best suited for someone with prior AD experience or strong set management skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with call sheets and scheduling

  • Coordinate cast and background movement on set

  • Support the 1st AD with set operations
