Short Film Casting Call for “Checkout Time” – Director of Photography (DP)
Job Description
A Toronto-based production team is seeking a collaborative Director of Photography (DP) to join the upcoming short film “Checkout Time.” This is a non-union, unpaid role ideal for emerging or passionate filmmakers looking to gain IMDb credit, behind-the-scenes stills, and footage for their reel. Meals will also be provided during production.
The project will be shot primarily in Toronto with a small, dedicated team, making this a great opportunity for a DP who enjoys working in a focused, creative environment.
Job Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the director and production team to capture the visual tone and storytelling of the film.

Operate and manage a Sony FX2 camera kit (provided by production).

Set up and manage lighting and camera movement for a single-location shoot.

Work efficiently with a lean crew across four shooting days.
Requirements

Must be based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Comfortable working in a collaborative, small-team environment.

Familiarity with indoor lighting setups for narrative filmmaking.

Ability to bring creative vision and flexibility to a short film production.

Additional personal gear is welcome but not required.
