The television series “9/12” is seeking background actors to portray male sanitation workers in Staten Island, New York. This paid casting opportunity is open to union and nonunion talent local to the NYC and New Jersey area. Selected performers must be available for two matching shoot days and comfortable wearing protective coveralls with artificial dust and ash makeup.
Job Responsibilities
- Portray a male sanitation worker in background scenes.

- Wear a protective suit and light artificial dust or ash on your face and body.
Requirements
- Be over 18 and local to the NYC or New Jersey area.
- Fit male wardrobe specifications: height 5′9″–6′1″ and shoe size 9–13.
- Be available for both tentative matching shoot days.
- Be comfortable wearing a Tyvek suit and artificial dust or ash containing cellulose, PVA, and vegetable starch.
- Submit your name, phone number, and union status. Union members should include their membership ID and confirm good standing.
- Provide current height, weight, shirt, pants, and shoe sizes for costuming purposes.
- Submit a recent, nonprofessional selfie and full-body photo taken within the past week in clear, plain lighting.
- Photos must have no editing, filters, unusual angles, glasses, or hats.
- Be able to present valid identification for employment verification and payment.
Compensation
- Union rate: $231 for 8 hours.
- Nonunion rate: $187 for 10 hours.
- Additional $100 makeup payment only if makeup is applied.
