[YOUNG AZRA] 12 to 18 (to play 14) years old, South Asian and Muslim, female. Must speak Urdu and be able to perform a North American English accent. The character is portrayed in 1989. Azra is 12-14 years old, awkward, and trying to fit in at her new school in the mostly white, rural town of Sydney, Cape Breton. She helps her mom at Tupperware parties, performs songs in Urdu on a cable access TV show dressed as a chicken, and starts to realize that she may like her best friend Jaya more than just as a friend. Please note, this character will be required to kiss another female actor of the same age. PRINCIPAL
 
[YOUNG ZAHID] South Asian, Muslim male, 14-18. Must have some conversational Urdu and English with a North American accent. The character is portrayed in 1989. Zahid is 16 years old, a cool kid, has his headphones and walkman on at all times. Zahid plays basketball and finds it easier to fit in at their new school than his younger sister Azra. He teases Azra, but deep down, he loves his family and is scared when their father has a heart attack. PRINCIPAL

Indigenous Children for Historical Film Prop Shoot

Job Description
A historically inspired film is seeking Indigenous children for a one-day prop photo shoot. The imagery will portray children within the context of the residential school system, contributing to a project that aims to respectfully honor and share Indigenous stories. The production is led by an Indigenous female director and writer and is committed to authentic cultural representation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in a still photo session for use within the film

  • Follow direction to convey the tone and emotion required by the scene

  • Be comfortable on set and maintain a calm, cooperative attitude

  • Ensure appearance matches submitted reference photos on the day of shoot

Requirements

  • Indigenous children, ages 7–10

  • Must be available to work in Hamilton, ON

  • Open to ACTRA members and non-union talent

  • Photos submitted must clearly show current hair, face, and overall appearance

  • Must be comfortable participating in a culturally significant, sensitive narrative

Compensation

  • $78.75 for a 4-hour session

  • Standard terms, including performer on-entry (POE) procedures, will be followed

A heartfelt Toronto-based student film is seeking talented Spanish-speaking Latin actresses for three emotionally rich roles in a short drama about family, grief, and generational bonds. This film is part of a thesis project supported by the Toronto Film School and welcomes both union (ACTRA) and non-union performers. All roles require fluency in Spanish and authentic Latin representation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver emotionally resonant performances in Spanish
