Job Description
An upcoming production of Arrigo Boito’s “Mefistofele” at Deutsche Oper am Rhein is seeking contemporary dancers based in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany. Directed by Philipp Rosendahl and choreographed by Alessia Ruffolo, the production is looking for performers with strong theatricality, exceptional performance skills, and confidence combining contemporary movement with dramatic storytelling.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform contemporary dance and movement in the opera production “Mefistofele.”
- Bring strong theatricality and expressive performance skills to the production.
- Collaborate with the choreographer, director, dancers, and wider creative team.
- Participate professionally in rehearsals and performances in Düsseldorf and Duisburg.
- Perform choreography and theatrical scenes as directed.
- Participate in scenes involving nudity within a safe and respectful professional environment.
Requirements
- Professional contemporary dance skills.
- Strong theatrical and performance abilities.
- Must be based in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany.
- Must be able to work in Düsseldorf and Duisburg.
- Comfortable and confident participating in scenes involving nudity.
- Professional, collaborative, and able to follow choreographic and theatrical direction.
Compensation
