Job Description: We are currently seeking a talented and dynamic Roadhouse Style Band for an exciting ACTRA feature film. This is a unique opportunity for a band to showcase their presence and energy in a professional production setting. The selected band will be featured in a scene set in a country bar.
Job Responsibilities:
- Appear on set as a cohesive band unit, complete with instruments.
- Mime playing your instruments; actual singing or playing is not required.
- Follow direction from the film’s production team to ensure an authentic performance.
- Collaborate with other cast members and crew to achieve the desired scene.
Requirements:
- Must be a cohesive band with the following members (or a similar combination): Guitar player, Bass player, Drummer, Keyboard player, Fiddler, Singer, etc.
- Must own and bring your own instruments to the set.
- Previous experience in performing, even if not professionally, is preferred.
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team environment.
- Must be available for a day shoot on July 22nd in Toronto.
Compensation:
- Standard Screen Extra (SSE) rate of $341 for 8 hours of work.
- Additional $40 instrument rental fee for each band member.
- Overtime pay at a rate of $64 per hour if required.

- Talia: Female, any ethnicity, 30s. Gavin’s ex-partner who has moved on but remains frustrated by his behavior.
- Emily: Female, any ethnicity, 20s. Gavin’s regular barista with one key scene.
- Young Man: Male, any ethnicity, ages 18–25. Appears in a car and interacts with Gavin and his children.
- Biker Guy 1 & Biker Guy 2: Male, any ethnicity, ages 30s–50s. Physically imposing characters who appear as Hal’s clients.
- Cook: Any gender, any ethnicity, ages 30s–50s. Diner kitchen staff with one line.
- Server: Any gender, any ethnicity, ages 20s–40s. Diner server appearing in several moments.
- Jenna: Female, any ethnicity, 20s–30s. A student in Gavin’s acting class.
- Stage Hand(s): Any gender, any ethnicity, ages 20s–40s. Theatre crew.
- Camera Operator: Any gender, any ethnicity, 20s. Appears during a casting-room scene with no dialogue.
- Student: Any gender, any ethnicity, ages 20s–40s. Appears as a student attending evening acting classes.
