Job Description: We are casting for a BBC Film feature written and directed by Deaf artist Louise Stern. The film will be shot in the UK and we are looking for a young Deaf girl to play one of the lead roles. This is a fantastic opportunity for a young Deaf actress, as no prior acting experience is required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Play a lead role as a sparky, independent 7-11 year old Deaf girl of mixed Black/White heritage.
- Sign fluently throughout the role as part of the character’s communication in the film.
- Follow direction from the film’s director and production team to bring the character to life.
- Engage with the film’s story and perform confidently on set.
Requirements:
- Must be a Deaf girl, aged 7-11 years old, of mixed Black/White heritage.
- Must be able to sign fluently (in British Sign Language or another form of sign language).
- No previous acting experience is required.
Compensation:
- This is a paid role for the selected actress.
