We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager, Ingest and Deliveries to join our Ingest and Deliveries team. The Technical Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing data follows proper workflows and naming conventions; managing our archiving and backup system; and being the main technical expert for the department’s internal and external stakeholders

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Workflow specialist: ensuring the distribution pipeline has a consistent and proper technical workflow; creating and maintaining tracking databases
  • Archive and Back Up; ensuring that all unique data is archived and backed up according to protocols; maintaining software and hardware tools
  • Ensure that all transfer protocols are working efficiently and optimized including Aspera and Signiant
  • Ensuring that all deliveries’ workflows are created to the technical specifications of each broadcaster
  • Liaising with Licensing about technical specs in deliveries agreements
  • Do any edits, graphic replacements and trouble shoot any corrupt issues with existing films
  • Main contact with IT about Deliveries hardware and software
  • Responsible for ensuring all equipment is current and in good working order
  • Main contact for hardware and software vendors
  • All equipment and vendor invoices go through the Technical Manager
  • Main Liaison and scheduler of Quality Control (QC), automated QC and QC vendors
  • Reviewing QC reports
  • Technically assessing all films for technical acceptance
  • Main contact for technical expertise regarding camera equipment for producers, technical workflows, equipment, and software

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong technical background and experience in the tv or film industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in film production, IT, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in film/tv distribution, dubbing and/or Ingest and Delivery management
  • Proven experience in workflow management, archiving, and/or ingest and deliveries
  • Workflow-minded, always looking for efficiencies
  • Knowledge of industry standard tools
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with Quality Control and troubleshooting
  • Computer Science background a bonus

Requirements

  • Prior experience in the relevant crew department preferred
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Passion for independent filmmaking
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a production environment
  • Reliable availability during filming weekends
