Casting Call: Cast Members for “Once” – A Tony Award-Winning Musical

Job Details: Bass/Valle Casting is seeking talented actors for the upcoming production of the Tony Award-winning musical, “Once.” This heartwarming and musically rich story set in a vibrant Dublin pub weaves an out-of-the-ordinary love tale. We encourage individuals of all races, ages, ethnicities, abilities, and gender identities to apply.

Roles Available:

  • GIRL: Female-Identifying, Mezzo-Soprano, piano skills required.
  • GUY: Male-Identifying, Baritone, guitar skills required.
  • REZA: Female-Identifying, Soprano, violin skills preferred.
  • EAMON: Male-Identifying, Baritone, multi-instrumentalist preferred.
  • BILLY: Male-Identifying, Baritone, guitar skills required.
  • BANK MANAGER: Open to all gender identities, cello and guitar skills required.
  • SVEC: Male-Identifying, Baritone, drum kit and guitar skills required.
  • ANDREJ: Male-Identifying, Baritone, guitar and bass skills required.
  • DA: Male-Identifying, plays the mandolin.
  • EMCEE: Open to all gender identities, guitar skills required.
  • EX-GIRLFRIEND: Female-Identifying, Mezzo-soprano, violin skills required.
  • BARUSKA: Female-Identifying, Alto, accordion/piano skills preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all scheduled rehearsals and performances.
  • Collaborate with the director, fellow cast members, and crew to bring the characters to life.
  • Maintain a high level of performance quality throughout the run.
  • Adhere to the production’s guidelines and schedules.

Requirements:

  • Prior acting experience (stage, film, TV).
  • Strong singing ability and proficiency in required instruments.
  • Ability to perform with authentic accents as described for each character.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work as a team.
  • Reliable transportation for in-person auditions and rehearsals.

Compensation:

  • Competitive pay, commensurate with experience and role.
  • Travel and accommodation expenses are not covered.
