Role Seeking:

  • Janek: Male, playing age 15-17, of Jewish descent. Janek is Rutka’s main romantic interest, a character who balances a confident, charismatic demeanor with moments of vulnerability and awkwardness around Rutka.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the role of Janek throughout the production run, attending all rehearsals and performances as scheduled.
  • Bring authenticity and emotional depth to the role, while also managing dynamic musical performances.
  • Collaborate with the director, musical director, and fellow cast members to develop a cohesive and compelling portrayal of Janek.
  • Participate in promotional activities, including media appearances and outreach events, as required.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18+ to audition.
  • Strong vocal ability with proficiency in folk/indie rock styles. Male roles require a vocal range up to at least a G.
  • Ability to portray complex emotional dynamics and a nuanced character arc.
  • Prior experience in musical theater preferred; strong acting skills are essential.

Compensation:
