Cast Member for “Rutka: A New Musical”
About “Rutka: A New Musical”: “Rutka: A New Musical” is a poignant and powerful indie-rock musical set to make its world premiere in Cincinnati. The story is set in 1943 war-torn Poland, centered on Rutka, a teenage girl living in a Jewish Ghetto amidst immense societal upheaval. Through Rutka’s diary entries, the narrative explores themes of adolescence, first love, and the resilience and resistance of a community under siege. The musical is inspired by the real-life diary of Rutka Laskier, a 14-year-old Holocaust victim whose writings were posthumously published.
