Job Description

Vital Casting is seeking people from all walks of life and across the political spectrum to participate in a PBS civics project. Selected participants will join a candid, respectful conversation exploring major civic questions, including who should influence what children learn in school and whether federal officials and judges should face term or age limits. No political expertise is required.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in an on-camera conversation about civic issues.
• Share personal perspectives and opinions in your own words.
• Engage respectfully with participants who may hold different viewpoints.
• Respond naturally to questions and discussion topics.

Requirements

• Open to people from a variety of backgrounds and political perspectives.
• No political or policy expertise is required.
• Must be willing to openly share personal views.
• Comfortable participating in a respectful discussion with others.
• Comfortable appearing on camera for the PBS civics project.

Jurors for Unscripted True Crime Series

Job Description
A groundbreaking true crime docuseries is casting real people to serve as jurors in a reenacted criminal trial based on actual court transcripts. This unscripted project offers participants the chance to examine real evidence, witness reenactments by professional actors, and deliberate in real time to reach a verdict. If you’re passionate about justice, have strong opinions, and love true crime, this experience is made for you.

Job Responsibilities

• Watch reenactments of a real criminal case based on official transcripts

• Participate in group deliberations with other selected jurors

• Share your thoughts, opinions, and unique perspective on the case

• Remain engaged, respectful, and articulate throughout the filming process

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older and reside in the Tri-State area

• Must have a valid passport (required for travel)

• Available to travel to Canada for filming (exact dates/location TBD)

• Comfortable being on camera in an unscripted environment

• Open-minded and willing to engage in thought-provoking discussions

Compensation

• All travel and accommodations covered

Casting Call: Participants for “JOYRIDE” – A New PBS Interview Web Series

Job Detail: We are excited to announce a casting call for a unique opportunity to be featured in the upcoming PBS web series titled “JOYRIDE.” This interview series aims to share the enriching life stories and experiences of our elder population, bringing to light the unique perspectives of those who have lived through remarkable times.

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in an on-camera interview, discussing your life experiences, stories, and wisdom.

• Be open to sharing personal narratives that may help to inspire and educate viewers.

• Engage with the interviewer in a thoughtful, reflective manner.

Requirements:

• Must be 75 years of age or older.

• Possess a wealth of life experiences and stories to tell.

• Individuals who may feel more isolated than before, or who live with disabilities that limit their outdoor activities, are especially encouraged to apply.

• Must be comfortable with being filmed and having their stories shared publicly.

• Be available for the duration of the shoot (specific dates to be communicated upon selection).

Compensation:

• While this is a non-paying role, participants will have the unique opportunity to share their legacy with a broad audience.

• Transportation and any related expenses for the filming will be covered.

• Participants will receive a copy of their episode for personal use.
