A 30-minute dramedy inspired by true events is casting actors, comedians, musicians, and real people for Journal of a Comedy Club Owner. Filming in San Antonio, Texas, this heartfelt project explores themes of community, resilience, friendship, and faith. No acting experience is required, making this a great opportunity for both experienced performers and first-time talent.
Job Responsibilities
- Portray one of the featured or supporting characters in the short film.
- Attend rehearsals and filming as scheduled.
- Follow direction from the production team.
- Deliver authentic performances that support the story.
- Maintain professionalism throughout production.
Requirements
- Open to actors, comedians, musicians, and real people.
- No acting experience required.
- Comedians and first-time performers are encouraged to apply.
- Priority will be given to San Antonio-area talent.

- Jay (Lead) – Male, late 30s–40s, comedy club owner.
- Keisha – Female, early to mid-30s, bar manager.
- Darnell – Male, mid-20s, bartender.
- Kenny – Male, 30s–40s, comedian.
- Destiny – Female, early 20s, tech manager.
- Tony – Male, 50+, house musician (guitar skills preferred).
- Minister Gloria – Female, late 30s–70s.
- Terrence – Male, 40s–50s, CPA.
- Deja – Female, 20s–30s, stand-up comedian.
- Ray & Carol – Couple, 30s–50s, longtime comedy club supporters.
- Submit a headshot (or recent photo), acting reel (if available), and a short bio.
