Casting Call for NYU Graduate Short Film “Boarder” in London
Job Description:
Now seeking actors for the NYU Graduate Short Film Boarder, a moving coming-of-age story about a 13-year-old girl struggling with homesickness at an English boarding school. The film explores friendship, isolation, and belonging through the eyes of a young girl far from home.
Job Responsibilities:
- 
Portray one of several lead and supporting roles authentically and with emotional depth
 - 
Collaborate closely with the director and crew to bring the story to life
 - 
Participate in rehearsals and filming in the London area
 - 
Deliver performances that capture the nuances of youth, identity, and culture
 
Roles Available:
- 
Samira (F, 11–13, Iranian or Middle Eastern): Clever, curious, determined; a new student struggling with homesickness.
 - 
Freya (F, 11–13, white): Confident, proud, and protective; Samira’s best friend.
 - 
Siobhan (F, 11–13, any ethnicity): Outspoken, loyal, and funny; protective of Freya and critical of outsiders.
 - 
Edw (F, 11–13, any ethnicity): Sweet but naive; kindhearted and optimistic.
 - 
Mrs. Pembley (F, 40–60, white): Strict but well-meaning matron at the boarding school.
 - 
Gardner (M, 60–70s, any ethnicity): Groundskeeper with a warm heart who befriends Samira.
 
Requirements:
- 
Must be based in or able to work as a local hire in London
 - 
Comfortable working with a student production team
 - 
Prior acting experience preferred but not required
 - 
Must be available for a five-day shoot in early January 2026
