Job Description
A new character-driven stage play, Skyhook, is casting three actors for its upcoming festival production premiering at the 2026 Toronto Fringe Festival. This access-focused production explores friendship, pride, and reinvention through the unlikely bond between an aging pilot and a retired pirate at a gambling resort.
The production is seeking versatile, dynamic performers (18+, any gender) for principal roles in this non-union theatrical production. Rehearsals will take place in New York City, with performances scheduled in Toronto, Canada.
Job Responsibilities

Portray one of the principal characters in a character-driven stage production

Collaborate closely with the director and creative team to develop layered, compelling performances

Participate in weekly rehearsals in NYC

Travel internationally for festival performances in Toronto

Perform consistently and professionally throughout the festival run

For select roles, perform dual characters as written in the script
Roles
SKY – A pilot and top local aviator. Fatigued rule-following perfectionist. (Doubles as Dr. Claude)
HOOK – A fisher-turned pirate. Deceptive, difficult player.
KINGSLEY – A know-it-all live table dealer who moonlights as a magician. (Doubles as Drapes)
DR. CLAUDE – A dogmatic lecturer and father to Sky. (Doubled by Sky actor)
DRAPES – An authoritative table game floor supervisor to Kingsley. (Doubled by Kingsley actor)
