Casting Call: Youth Skateboarders for Summer Film Project
Location: Chicago, IL
Job Details: Simon Casting is excited to announce an open casting call for a forthcoming film project scheduled to shoot this summer in Chicago. We are seeking young, enthusiastic skateboarders to bring energy and authenticity to this dynamic production.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform skateboard tricks and routines as directed.
- Follow the instructions from the director and crew.
- Attend all scheduled rehearsals and filming dates.
- Collaborate with the film’s cast and crew to ensure a seamless performance.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor on set.
Requirements:
- Age: Must be between 6 to 12 years old at the time of filming.
- Skateboarding Skills: Intermediate to advanced skateboarding ability. Candidates must be comfortable performing on camera and able to follow choreography.
- Availability: Must be available for the duration of the shooting schedule in Chicago this summer (specific dates to be provided upon selection).
- Supervision: A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child to all shoots and rehearsals.
- Application Submission: Please send a current headshot and resume along with a video showcasing your skateboarding skills.
Compensation:
- This is a paid role. Specific rates will be discussed with selected candidates.
- Compensation will include daily rates for shooting days and rehearsals.
- Any travel or accommodation required will be provided if not local to Chicago.

“Porch on Windy Hill” Open Casting Call
Simon Casting is seeking non-union understudies for the following roles in Northlight Theatre’s upcoming production of Porch on Windy Hill:
BECKETT (Cover) Late 20s, white male. Multi-instrumentalist. Originally from Connecticut, he has studied Ethnomusicology and Music History at Williams College.
His passion is Old Time and Traditional American Music. He and his girlfriend, Mira have played music together since they met in college, and he is “leading” the expedition, navigating Fiddlers’ Coventions and Festivals around the Applachian region.
The actor must play the Mandolin with a high level of proficiency. Other instruments played by the character include Guitar and Tenor Banj.
MIRA (COVER) 26 year-old, bi-racial, Asian-American woman. A Brooklyn Hispter orginally from North Carolina. While Traveling near Asheville with her wihte, Hippie/musician boyfriend, after month of “COVID Lockdown”, she meets her estranged maternal grandfather – a “footnote-famous” banjo-player – after almost twenty years without contact.
Needs to have above average classical musica background and should have the ability to read a Mozart solo.
Must play the Violin at a high level of proficiency. Other instruments that this character plays in the show are Appalachian Dulcimer and the Er-hu (rudmientary skills are required and cabe learned in rehearsal.)
Will perform a minimum of 6 performance
