Job Description
An emotionally rich short film is casting for a dramatic table read exploring the weight of family secrets, unresolved love, and the grief of a child given up for adoption. The story follows Lisa and David, two emotionally complex characters brought together after years of silence. This is a powerful performance opportunity for actors who excel at layered, introspective roles with heavy emotional arcs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in a live or virtual dramatic table read performance

  • Embody characters with strong emotional depth and internal conflict

  • Collaborate with the director and fellow cast to shape the tone and rhythm of the story

  • Deliver expressive dialogue with clarity, vulnerability, and presence

Requirements

  • Lisa: Female, age 30–50, any ethnicity; must portray emotional complexity and guilt with quiet strength

  • David: Male, age 30–50, any ethnicity; emotionally guarded, must express grief and suppressed vulnerability

  • Must be a local actor in Houston, Austin, or Dallas

  • Submit headshot, resume, and link to monologue or reel

  • Available for one of the following read dates:

    • July 18 (Houston)

    • July 21 (Austin)

    • July 24 (Dallas)

    • TBD Virtual session
