Job Description

An independent non-union film titled Plastic Shine is seeking actors of Asian ethnicity for key supporting roles. Set against the backdrop of Sydney nightlife, the story follows a lonely teenager whose life is disrupted when his charismatic uncle suddenly reappears, leading him through a night of intoxication, temptation, and fleeting freedom.

Job Responsibilities

• Portray a scripted character in an independent dramatic production.
• Attend rehearsals, auditions, and filming sessions as required.
• Collaborate with the director and fellow cast members.
• Deliver authentic performances that support the film’s emotional narrative.
• Maintain professionalism throughout production.

Requirements

Michael Iroh’s Brother

• Asian ethnicity.
• Male, ages 20–25.
• Side character role.
• Protective, blunt, and rough around the edges.
• Acts as an older-brother figure and assumes responsibility for others.

Michael Iroh’s Uncle

• Asian ethnicity.
• Male, ages 30–45.
• Second lead role.
• Extroverted and charismatic.
• Able to charm people easily through personality and confidence.

Additional Requirements

• Non-union performers.
• Strong acting ability and reliability.
• Comfortable working on an independent film production.
• Must be available for auditions and filming schedules.
