Job Description
A new anthology sci-fi TV series is casting multiple speaking roles for Jamaal: Love Code, a story exploring the intersection of futuristic AI innovations and Black gay dating. Filming will take place in Los Angeles, CA, and production is seeking strong, emotionally grounded performers who can bring modern relationships, tension, and humor to a high-concept sci-fi world—plus select android/AI character roles.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform scripted scenes for an anthology sci-fi TV series with relationship-driven storytelling.

• Collaborate with the director and production team to build believable character dynamics.

• Take direction, maintain continuity, and deliver consistent performances across takes.

• For android roles, incorporate physicality, tone, and precision to support an AI/robot character.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in Los Angeles, CA (local hire preferred).

• Roles available include:

  • Chris (Black man, mid-20s to early 40s): Uptight, dramatic boyfriend; “voice of reason,” impulsive under stress.

  • Zay (Black man, mid-20s to early 40s): Adventurous boyfriend; humorous, flirty, quick-witted.

  • Kyle — Android Bot (Black man, mid-20s to late 30s): Confident android dating contestant; evolves into obsessive surveillance/emotional dependency.

  • Theo (Black man, mid-20s to early 40s): Loyal, supportive boyfriend; charismatic, nurturing.

  • Mike — Android Bot (Black man, mid-20s to late 30s): Humanoid android modeled after a deceased spouse; affectionate but bound by programming limits.

  • Thomas (Black man, mid-20s to early 40s): Stern, outspoken; conflicted by grief and concern.

  • Von (Black man, mid-20s to early 40s): Charming bartender; warm and empathetic with strong chemistry.

  • Jimmy (Man, early 30s to late 50s): Trend-savvy best friend; factual, a bit pretentious, deeply loyal.

  • John (Black man, mid-20s to early 40s): Snappy, quick-witted; protective partner with strong opinions.

  • Bot Contestant #2 (Man, mid-20s to late 30s): Sensitive, romantic “heart of steel” android contestant.

  • Will (Black man, mid-20s to mid-40s): Sarcastic and bold; jokes about androids, masks reckless behavior.

  • News Reporter (Woman, mid-20s to late 40s): Professional newsreader explaining android recalls.

  • Sean (Black man, mid-20s to early 40s): Warm, upbeat friend; mediates tension, socially smooth.

  • Ciara (Black woman, mid-20s to early 40s): Supportive, bubbly friend; helps lead a birthday party moment.
